Lilith comes from Jewish folklore - which was taken from pagan demons/gods (lore written in CE/AD, long after the Torah/OT Bible, which was written in BC/BCE) , and some ppl incorporated it down the line. But it's not biblical at all.

@geminiqueen7388 That's not correct. Where do you see Lilith mentioned in actual biblical text? The closest you can get is the term lilith or lilit (translated as "night creatures", "night monster", "night hag", or "screech owl") first occurs in a list of animals in Isaiah 34, and has nothing to do with Gensis or Adam & Eve.

So I see a lot of people who are confused about the whole Adam and Lilith thing. It's an actual rendition of Garden of Eden, Lilith was Adam's first wife and the Lilith in Diablo IV is the same Lilith from the Garden of Eden. Lilith was banished from the Garden and sent to hell with Lucifer, where she became the demon. I don't remember all of the details so I could be mistaken about something, but just wanted to shed a little bit of light on the subject bc most people only know about Eve

I wasn't I knew about Lilith since highschool I found a game made after Dantes Inferno and the DLC had Lilith in it. I read the 1st part of the Divine Comedy during senior year, I don't remember finding her in it or at least not in Inferno, I still haven't read Purgatorio or Paradiso. Lilith is also a popular subject in black metal songs. Eg: Liliths Embrace by Ancient and Lilith Immaculate by Cradle of Filth. Elizabeth Bathory is also a popular subject in (black) metal songs, Cradle of Filth made an entire concept album about her called Cruelty and The Beast and before that was a band named Bathory having a song titled "Woman of Dark Desres"

Guys, just to clarify, Lilith is not a character invented for the series, in the Jewish religion Lilith is related as the first woman and wife of Adam, but she did not want to give in to her husband's demand for power and that is why she fled. from the garden of Eden. Since Adam was left without a partner, now his new wife Eve would be created from Adam's rib... I wanted to make this clarification since people who do not know about this religion usually think that they are invented characters, but in this series Many other characters that appear in the Bible are mentioned as well as Lilith.

Charlie is voiced by Erika Henningsen, she is in Broadway in Mean Girls. I doubt youve heard her before. And Angel Dust is voiced by Blake Roman who is also in Broadway but very new to the scene. Adam is voiced by Alex Brightman who also voices Fizzarolli in Helluva Boss! He also voices another new character in Episode 2 :)

Lilith is no where in the Book of Genesis, she is a character created in 9th century AD long after the OT and NT were written. The closest mention of Lilith is the word lilit in Isaiah chapter 34 in a list of animals since that word literally means screeching owl. Lilith is a folk character and was never part of established religious canon anymore than Prester John or Wandering Jew. She was never removed from the Bible because she was never fucking part of it. Not to mention that Adam and Eve were equals until the shit with the fruit (which is never described as an apple) happened.

She was in Jewish lore, but not in their religious text. The lore in which Lilith originates was written in AD, while the Torah/OT Bible was written in BC. She wasn't removed from biblical texts because she was never there to begin with.

@christinamz1944 It's an easy mistake to make :) A lot of the lore incorporates religious text, so it can get confusing. Sort of like the lore of George Washington chopping down a cherry tree ("I can not tell a lie"), which never happened but many think did.

In certain books of the bible (now considered apocryphal or non-cannon) and judaism, lilith was the first human woman created for adam. However, lilith was created as adam's equal, and adam was displeased. When lilith refused to submit to adam, she was cast out of heaven, and eve was made to be subservient to adam. You can see why this story isnt considered a part of the modern canon.

Be careful with copyright in the rest of the episodes since theyre prime exclusives, especially the songs! I’ve seen some channels play versions of the songs with just vocals and no instrumental in the background to avoid it in editing And just to clear up some tiny things -You’ll be able to see all the voice actors on prime! when u pause the screen it’ll show you who’s in the current scene -Viv got hella broadway singers and celebrities on here hehe -The reason Adam and Lute looked “demonic” is because they’re exorcists! -This show is strictly for comedy and satire ^^ while based off elements of the Christian faith Viv has not and likely won’t go public about her religion, which if she did i personally feel like it would defeat the purpose since it’s all just for fun => Cant wait for more! ❤

Most of the cast are new voices. The two exceptions are Stephanie Beatriz (Vaggie) who was Mirabel Madrigal in “Encanto” and Keith David (Husk) who was Dr. Facilier in “The Princess and the Frog”. To me, Charlie sounded a lot like Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”.

I legitimately think all the angels had t do to refute Charlie is say "Mistakes? Is that ehat we are calling serial killers now? What about rapists and child molestors? Really? Just made a few mistakes?" I'm not saying there isn't anyone who can be redeemed but maybe the show should have acknowledged the morally grey area about trying to give sinners in Hell a second chance.

Angel wasn't a serial killer or a child molester. He was born into a mob family. Someone like Alastor can't be redeemed, but Charlie's idea is absolutely solid.

Charlie does have a point but not everyone deserves a second chance like she was implying and he reasoning for someone getting into Heaven just because they made good choices in one night doesn't make up for a lifetime of bad decisions and whoring around. Angel can EVENTUALLY be redeemed but the process shouldn't be as quick as a few months after how long they had been committing their sins. Alastor is definitely not interested in redemption so I don't know what he's going to do but we all know it won't be good.

The first testament was almost entirely based on Judaism. Lillith is Adam's first wife in Jewish folklore. In the Bible she IS mentioned, exactly once as a very evil, ancient, dangerous, entity.

Most of the cast are Broadway performers. Charlie is voiced by Erika Henningsen, who was in the Broadway adaptation of Mean Girls; she wasn't in anything Disney. It's just that Charlie's whole personality and style is basically "Disney Princess.... of hell" 😂 So her songs often sound like generic Disney Princess songs. By the way, during the "Hell Is Forever" song, you mentioned that God's word is final... you may want to re-watch the opening scene again with the story of hell's creation. There's no mention of God at all; in this version, the angels created the universe, and Earth, and Adam; and the angels cast Lucifer and Lilith into hell. As far as we know, God may not even exist in the Hazbin/Helluva universe. So that's definitely not what Adam was talking about. It's also not about Revelations; "kill them again" is talking about the exterminations that the whole show is about, where the angels come down once a year (or now, every 6 months) to wipe Sinner demons from existence.

God was mentioned few times as existing in Helluva Boss and in episode 6 they depicted St. Peter so the events in New Testament happened so Jesus is somewhere around.

They depicted the formation of Earth, the creation of Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden, and the casting of Lucifer into hell, all without God and assigning that role to the angels as a whole. There's not reason they can't have St. Peter as "the guy who guards the gate" without the rest of Peter's New Testament origin story. When did they mention God exists in Helluva Boss? The only time I can think of is the pilot when he says "Oh, I guess there is a God" as a joke -- which, even if taken seriously, would imply that he doesn't actually know God exists.

Yeah, Lilith was Adam's first wife. This is from the original Bible, but newer versions dont add her. Adam didn't treat her like an equal, so she left him. That's why God made Eve from Adam's rib to make her lower than Adam

"original Bible" Lilith is likely a pre-judaism mythological/folklore character that then ended up in Judaism as a demon, and then eventually she was portrayed as Adam's wife. This final part was long after the Adam and Eve tale was written. She was never actually part of the Christian Bible.

Lilith wasn't invented for this show. In some mythologies, Lilith was Adam's first wife, created from the same dirt/dust that Adam was; but she refused to be submissive to him, so he cast her out of the garden and replaced her with Eve, made from his rib so she'd always submit to his will. For her disobedience, Lilith was cursed by God to become the mother of all demons. Those stories were first written down around 700 AD and have been a strong influence in Jewish mythology.

In some translations of the Torah and Bible, God creates a man and woman-Adam and Lilith-and later creates Eve out of Adam's rib (which is what Adam is eating at the meeting 😂). She's not original to the series.

Lilith was really god’s wife in some of the legends if you watch the series Lucifer Lilith was Lucifer and the other archangels mother and then Aron’s later the story of Adam and Eve
