The spirit (not a demon) has nothing to do with deer. People just started depicting it with a deer skull because it looks scary.

The traditional wendigo doesn't have ANY deer features. Alastor actually got killed by a deer hunter while running from the police. And Hell essentially played a cruel joke on him by giving him multiple deer features. He was initially gonna have a deer tail, but it was scrapped. He also had a radio show, which explains why his voice sounds like it's coming through a speaker. In Viv's version of Hell, this underworld loves changing people's appearance in a cruel way that serves a constant reminder of how you died.

There's actually an interesting comparison/ correlation on the rise and fall of radio With Vox and Alistor. Back in the day radio was king, then television slowly became more popular, now in the age of podcasts, radio is making a comeback in a way

Vox (the TV dude) is the demon of TV. Similar to Alastor being the radio demon. Vox teamed up with two other demons, Valentino - adult film demon, and Velvet - internet demon (collectively known as " The Three V's". They're incredibly powerful, but less than Alastor, Charlie, Lucifer, etc.

As far as we're aware. Sinners in hell turn into demons represented by both what they've done in life and how they died. I think alastor was shot in the head during a hunting trip, thats why he looks like a deer and has the death X on his forehead

Alastor, when h was a human, was a radio host and a serial killer in New Orleans who met his end when a hunter in 1933 mistook him for a deer while on a hunting trip and shot him in the head. Now he's a cannibal in Hell, and a lot of the modern influence of the wendigo or a similar dark voodoo deity (or loa as they're often referred to) is the inspiration to his appearance, especially his full-demon form (which is truly terrifying).

I always thought that Allastor in this comic went to sew up his clothes after the snake attack. But in reality, This comic plot ended up in the past 7 years ago before Hazbin, and I remembered the plot completely incorrectly

Vox, the TV demon rules the video landscape of Hell. Just like Alastor rules the radio waves of Hell. They've had a long rivalry (TV vs Radio) but apparently Alastor went missing for 7 years- That's the line about him hiding and going on vacation. I don't think this will spoil anything but Vox seems to have an ability to hypnotize Sinners through that weird eye. Likely also a nod to how TV seems to keep viewers glued no matter what. Alastor is also a deer demon. He was killed in the 30s by being shot in the head because hunters thought he was a deer. But, truly, a wendigo is an inspired thought on it.

Viv, HH’s creator, has actively denied Alastor having wendigo origins. He’s more inspired by the US deep south’s voodoo culture than aboriginal Australia.

Alastor was a serial killer/radiuo host in the 1920s he was shot in the head by a hunter who mistook him for a deer. he was also a cannibal, so the wendigo look is lore accurate.

The eye I though of as like an involuntary twitch. He can do it on purpose to activate his TV hypno power but when he's angry or upset it happens as a reflex

We don't really know what Vox is capable of yet, only that he controls pretty much all of Hell's technology, media, and is one of the overlords(Basically a sinner who rose to power). As for specific abilities, we only really know two, he can transport himself through electronic devices. We see this happen in episode 2 when he uses security cameras to basically teleport by traveling through the electrical current. The other power is that it seems like he can hypnotize other sinners using his left eye. The extent to which he can do this is unknown, all it's really been shown to do is memorize people, not necessarily control them. It also doesn't seem to work on powerful entities, as it seems to have no effect on Valintino(another overlord).

Side note alistor makes the wedigo sound if hes horns ether grow or if hes very angry mostly both but in the song you need to listen closely as soon as hes horns grow you hear it faint

The song was about and partially spoiled to me in so many tiktoks that I wanted to listen to it in full since I wished it to be the first listen when I react to it😁 That's why I listened to it before watching the whole Episode
