There is just something missing in today's music. Today's music is good, but 80's music is just right. I am a nerd/geek. In high school, I did not get into music. But I heard Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and I was hooked. Back in 2014, my wife and I, went and saw Def Leppard and Kiss doing their 40th anniversary tour. Two awesome bands in one concert!!!

This was released a year before the drummer lost his left arm in a car accident. The band wouldn't hire a new drummer, instead they waited for him to heal and rig up some foot pedals so he could still perform..

"Yes" you heard "gunter glieben glauchen globen" on Offspring's "Pretty Fly for White Guy." -- This is where Offspring sampled it from. -- It's the Producer of "Rock of Ages", who got tired of counting off with the standard, '1, 2, 3, 4." So, he made a bunch of fake German sounding words, just as Offspring count off with "Uno, Dos, Tres... -- Anyway, Def Leppard found so humerous, they left in and it's now forever on the album.

Def Leppard had fun with the music video + with this song! 😎 Released in 1983. Produced by Mutt Lange. Keyboards by Thomas Dolby. 1982 TD wrote She Blinded Me with Science. Mutt Lange on background vocals. 1981. Foreigner hired Thomas Dolby to play keyboards. Mutt Lange produced the Foreigner album 4 with Mick Jones. Joe Elliott took the words Rock of Ages from The Bible. Rick Allen had 2 arms on this song + in the remainder of the album. Next video: Animal! 🐆 🇬🇧

I have seen our mighty Lepp six times 😂 Only band I love that much to pay every time they get back here to the UK ! One of my most treasured possessions is a bass plectrum that Rick (Sav) Savage threw out into the crowd.. I did a massive dive for that 🤣 Very fun live, they have such a huge catalogue of music that they drop random oldies into every one of their gigs.. Yep, fun , high energy for sure !! As you listen to their music, you will notice the changes in style, from their beginning 'On Through the Night', ''High and Dry' and 'Pyromania', where they were still unknown to many , and Rick Allen still had his left arm... ..his accident would eventually lead to Hysteria, which blasted them everywhere across the globe!! .. and then their amazing guitarist, Steve Clark , sadly died.. 🙁 So they returned with 'Adrenalize' as a four piece, and after that, they found Viv Campbell !! Viv brought a whole new energy to Def Leppard and has now been with them for 30 years.. Their albums since have been critiqued by people who miss the old sound, who miss Steve Clark, But I love everything about this band.. 'Euphoria' has some amazing sounds and songs, far more modern I suppose you'd say... And so happy that you feel their energy and you like them too 😀

Too bad you didn't see the original video that goes with this song because it just does the song justice. Joe has an amazing voice for lead vocals and Rick plays awesome drums for using only his right hand. One awesome group that has withstood the test of time.

Pyromania was Def Leppard's first platinum album, and this song is a big part of the reason why. It was the second of four singles off this album, and was the one that broke Def Leppard in America and got hair metal on the radio. They also happened to be a photogenic bunch of guys who got big just as MTV was getting big, and with Mutt Lang producing the album, it was the perfect storm. Things kind of went downhill for them after Pyromania, what with their drummer losing an arm in a car accident- which contributed to long delays in getting the follow up album released- and their guitarist & source of their distinctive backing vocals drinking himself to death, you could say they've had it kind of rough, although in spite of all that they managed to stay relevant, but they never quite got back the magic they had in 1983. (When in comes to catching all the bad breaks, Riot takes the prize for being the real life Spinal Tap, but you could make a good case for Def Leppard coming in second)
