This is a fan made video created in the run up to Hazel O'Connors Breaking Glass Film Tour. Celebrating 35 years of Breaking Glass with it's first ever showing on the big screen of the new digitally remastered uncut version of the film, an intimate Q&A and an unplugged performance of some of the films best loved songs.
30th Nov - The Lowry, Salford Quays

2nd Dec - Nottingham Glee Club
4th Dec - London Union Chapel
6th Dec - Birmingham Glee Club
7th Dec - Cardiff Glee Club

Such a talented and special person. One of my favourite films and albums, Hazel doesn’t get anywhere near the credit she deserves.

@timewyrmrevelations7700 searched for it for the longest time, I even asked Phil Daniels on a call in show once!! About the difficulties in finding it. It has something to with Dodi Fayed and a royalties issue I think. KZfaq has it now full movie now thankfully

I was very young when this incredible song grabbed me from the video my sister was watching with friends. It was unlike anything I’d heard but I barely remembered the title until many decades later, I find Breaking Glass & The Eighth Day! This was even better than when I 1st heard it, thanks for sharing this impressive, well written masterpiece.

Thank you to all of you who are coming over from the most recent shares of this on it's anniversary. Big thanks and huge virtual hugs and kisses to you all and especially Hazel O'Connor. My intention was never to make anything better here, it's already perfect. So again, thank you all who watch and share and make sure you buy all of Hazel's works and things and merch and watch her online streaming until we can go see this wonderful woman and her band tour again.

PURE GENIUS!!!! I will admit, I wasn't totally sure how I felt about my favourite scene from any film I ever saw being edited like this and given an "updated" taste of how this scene may have looked if made today (that said, this clever idea of using M3 reflective tape cut to look like circuitry was so ahead of it's time when I saw it at the cinema back in 1980!) Having watched several times and right to the end, I have to say, this is pure genius and I am hooked on watching it over and over! It's received a massive thumbs up on the Hazel O'connor groups on Facebook and from my friends. Hazel herself re-shared after I posted to her page, even though I hadn't realised she had seen and shared it before, so she obviously loves it too!

Wow, thank you so much. Yes, Hazel has seen and shared this and i was very flattered that she had and for her response when meeting her at the sage in gateshead. Thank you to all who watch and share this. Its much appreciated. I was born in 1980 and the soundtrack while growing up was "Breaking Glass". I was told i used to get up at night and put this song on the record player in my bedroom at night to go to sleep to, and would often get back up to put it on again, and again, and again lol.

@@tonywilson9437 I didn't actually see the film until 2015 where Hazel was present, She did a Q&A after the film and then performed all the songs. It was pure magic. I continue to rave about the film and how much relevance it has to todays artists and industry market, which is nothing more than a meat market where they care very little about the artist and more about what the artist can do for the industry. It is truly a fantastic film. Meant to be told and written.

'WOW.' I saw Haxel O'connor Live many many years ago. As Tony Willson said a year ago. Embellishment is the perfect word. Unfortunately my sight cannot see how Amazing you have made Eighth Day look. I lost my sight permanently,(M.S.) 15 plus yrs ago. My partner is sighted. We played this version 27 times and 14 more the day after. I do have an imprint and that is good enough for me. Thank You very much. We are sorry, as we cannot donate any money to help Hazel 😪. Truly my friend. Hazel is an Amazing Person, Singer and all those years ago she had time for her Fan's. We wish Hazel over comes the Aneurysm. God Bless Hazel O'connor.🙏🎤🎷🎶🎵 x x

It is a fantastic song. Lyrically it's genius. An epic moment in a film that has just as much relevance today as it did in 1980.

Thank you. This version seems to have had a new influx of listeners, which is always good coz "Breaking Glass" movie and soundtrack is just out of this world amazing! Hazel sharing my artwork of her and signing the one copy I had printed is still as surreal a moment when I look at it on my wall lol

Great image's Hazel ó Connor Breaking glass . I'm a big fan of her since the movie came in the theaters. The song Eight day's got stuck in my mind, my whole life, and now 2022 . The world running into a place where ,a few verry ritch elites, who feel like gods, want to chip/lock humans up en put us into machines. Total control, and nobody laugh and nobody cry.

How right she was back then! I suppose we're pretty close to the eighth day - shouldn't we be doing something? How about sending troops into Ukraine and kicking Putin's arse until his troops sod off home?! It might cause a nuclear war, but it might put him straight once and for all. And if it does go wrong, at least we tried. Hazel O'Connor was well ahead of her time! And didn't she sing about kicking somebody in the arse?! Brilliant song and fan video!😊

A few added effects to the actual video does not make it a fan video. It is a shame you added them as the original does not need them.

I agree it doesn't, but it was a lil pleasure of mine and hazel didn't mind as she thought it was good enough to share on her page. Which was good enough for me. (Can't beat the original tho)

It being a pleasure and H liking it does not make it a fan made video. Fan made videos tend to not have anything from the original video in them.

@@Dermacrosis I didn't disagree with you. I actually agreed with you "I agree, it doesn't" Also pointing out that 1) I liked doing it 2) Hazel liked it 3) Agreed you can't beat the original. I'm going to add another 4) I really couldn't care if it doesn't fulfill in your perception or anyone elses the term "fan made" You are free to watch the original or the HD version which is also on KZfaq. I often watch the original and share it.

Yet you argued your side and so you did care. If you didn't care you would not have replied to me in the first place. The minor edits and additions you made are so insignificant it does not make it a fan made video. Fan made song possibly but not a fan made video.
