The HB.130 is the second bike to come from our Barnoldswick Factory and October 2020 sees the launch of a number revisions to the spec and models of the bike. In the first year of production Hope have made and sold over 250 HB.130, not big numbers by any means, but for a handcrafted machine made in the UK, it’s impressive.
The 2021 Bikes: The best ever spec’d HB.130's. With new Suspension from Fox, DMR Deathgrips and fresh drive train from SRAM, Hope have kept the 140/130mm travel, 29 wheels and modern trail geo too. This is a Hope bike of course, so you’ll find a full complement of Hope components in the mix as well.
...And what the Film is all about: The HB.130 FR - A true Factory Racing replica. It's long been a goal of Hope to move into painted frames and over the last year the company has invested in the staff and facilities to make that dream a reality. Each frame is obsessed over by the in-house paint tech Bailey. He is responsible for all the painted frames and his attention to detail is amazing, guaranteeing each frame comes out the booth looking stunning.
The FR is built to the same spec as the bikes ridden by our factory race team and features an Ohlins M2 fork and a TTX Coil shock. The FR replica is available in limited quantities due to the time it takes to produce each one.

Wow, stunning! Gone are the days of my youth when we gathered all bikes or bike parts and proceeded to assemble two wheeled rocket ships! No need for all wheels to match sizes just needed to hold air! We rode all summer long, in dirt, on asphalt and even in grasses. We had our own trails up and down the hills and through the local gravel quarry. The most we spent on these was the price of a new pack of patches, or when there was no more room for patches, a new inner tube! You my friend have a serious machine, I hope it takes you as far as ours did.

Lol made me smile, the number of hours we use to spend walking around looking for dump bits of bikes, I found an Olympic London Claw Butler frame, it was 2 years before I found forks for it, had Daws engraved allay drops handle bars

So satisfying to have something and really appreciate the work that went into building it, my, how technology has changed. Happy riding

This is so awesome! I'll always be a champion of a company that designs and manufacturers all of their equipment in house. Quite a feat. I'm confident that Hope and other English based companies will pave the way for the rebirth of the English Cycling Industry in the near future. In addition, every Hope product I've ever owned has worked flawlessly regardless of how hard I've ridden them. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
@team3383
@team3383 3 жыл бұрын
If the salaries needed to afford bicycles like these were more widespread then the revival of teh "English Cycle Industry" as you call it has a certain future. If the purchasing power of the average English household (including that of single athletes) remains the same, then they have little chance of becoming a major player. BUT: they make excellent products and will survive in their niche market. Anything made to this standard in a niche market survives.
@kamilnaumowicz1635
@kamilnaumowicz1635 3 жыл бұрын
@@team3383 I wholeheartedly agree, the purchasing power of households has been pretty dismal since wages have been stagnant while inflation has been on the rise. Regardless, maybe purchasing a bike completely kitted out with Hope Products is unfeasible for most but purchasing a stem or a hub from them is a more attainable goal.
@team3383
@team3383 3 жыл бұрын
@@kamilnaumowicz1635 Not sure that those seeking a stem or a hub will be purchasing from them either. Still expensive parts because "confidentially" made by pros for pros almost and HB aren't known enough to make a dent in that market - Parts volumes are very low as they are covered by mainstream manufacturers and discount outlets. Top of the range Shimano and Campagnolo parts can be had for discount prices.
@kamilnaumowicz1635
@kamilnaumowicz1635 3 жыл бұрын
@@team3383 I'd argue that paying $110 for a stem isn't that prosperous when paired with the great customer service and durability of the product. In addition, I've met plenty of riders running Hope gear so there's definitely a market for their products. Also, comparing Hope to Shimano or Campagnolo is problematic for several reasons. Firstly, Shimano and Campagnolo have complex supply chains that rely increasingly on outsourced labor which allows them to sell components for cheaper. Hope sources their raw materials and labor domestically. Secondly, Hope is still in its infancy as it only started in 1989. Compare that to Shimano which started in 1921 and Campagnolo in 1933. Lastly, I believe that individuals still take pride in purchasing products that are domestically made. I'm actually from the states and I know from experience that cyclists love their Chris King / Paul / Thomson components and they'll go out of their way to purchase them regardless of price.
