Nitro Kart was a fine game whereas CTR was a first attept at a racing game and they went all out. Took every good thing from Mario Kart and took it to the next level. Added a Time Trial mode with a Ghost option so you can literally race against yourself. Several Hidden Characters, tracks with several little shortcuts, jumping, trophy ceremonies, etc. For a first racing game, Naughty Dog and Insomniac did EVERYTHING right and set a standard not even Nintendo an match today. On a playstation 1...

Huh, this is kinda bittersweet when you realize this was Naughty Dog's farewell to Crash, givng everyone a conclusion while showing some concept art felt like a nice touch. If nothing else Crash bid adieu to Naughty on a high note, even if that drift needs some serious tweaking.

4:17 I think this might have been an interesting hint to an hipotetic Crash Bandicoot 4 made by Naughty Dog. However I also notice that this ending was the farewell from Naughty Dog to the franchise and they didn't have plans for something after this. It's a little sad but I loved this ending and the scrapbook was awesome to see.

That effect with the afterimages coming from the characters... you will *NEVER* see that in modern games. I bet Vicarious Visions or whoever develops a CTR remake will never be able to replicate that effect.

Such a great game, and the Epilogue made completion further worth it :) Years later, I still have the biggest damn crush on Ami Bandicoot (\./) Badass and well fitting that she becomes a kart driver. Kick some ass, bandicoot sweet.

It actually does. The 3D models are sharper but the 2D spirites (pseudo-3D objects) and textures look nearly same (textures are a bit better than normally). But, as this is the European PAL version, the resolution is bit higher than American NTSC (PAL 576p [ 720X576@50Hz ], NTSC 480p [ 640X480@60Hz ]).

@JackBandicootsBunker No it isn't. 105% was in Crash 3. And the Time Trials didn't add to percentage, as the Adventure Mode was the only place where were any kind of percentage system. The platinum relics do nothing, they were added just to show off to your friends (as I tried getting them all, no additional percentage, nothing). And you don't unlock N. Oxide by beating his ghosts as I've done it and he wasn't unlocked. The only way to unlock Oxide is through a Gameshark cheat code.

Naughty Dog can dish out some kickass themes.

Isn't it ironic that 4 years after the games released that Roy of Siegfried & Roy was attacked by his tiger, causing him blood loss? In the ending, Pura closed his mouth a bit too early on Floyd, and Floyd happens to be a parody of Roy?
