In the 5th installment of the series, it becomes clear what the prophecy means and why Dumbledore has been ignoring Harry. Harry is broken after Sirius' death and he feels nothing has a point anymore, until he realizes it does.
They added this scene from the books, but shortened it, no idea why. I would've liked it to see Harry throwing around stuff though. And how would Richard Harris do this scene? Probably with some awesome quotes.

"Harry, suffering like this proves you are still a man! This pain is part of being human -” “THEN - I - DON’T - WANT - TO - BE - HUMAN!” Harry roared, and he seized one of the delicate silver instruments from the spindle-legged table beside him and flung it across the room. It shattered into a hundred tiny pieces against the wall. Several of the pictures let out yells of anger and fright, and the portrait of Armando Dippet said, “Really!” “I DON’T CARE!” Harry yelled at them, snatching up a lunascope and throwing it into the fireplace. “I’VE HAD ENOUGH, I’VE SEEN ENOUGH, I WANT OUT, I WANT IT TO END, I DON’T CARE ANYMORE -” He seized the table on which the silver instrument had stood and threw that too. It broke apart on the floor and the legs rolled in different directions. “You do care,” said Dumbledore. He had not flinched or made a single move to stop Harry demolishing his office. His expression was calm, almost detached. “You care so much you feel as though you will bleed to death with the pain of it.”

I wouldn't say that the movie ruined it. I suppose they thought a quiet scene would be more intense - the whole "less is more" way of thinking - but the what made the scene disappointing (at least to those wh'veo read the book) was that it was way too short. They could have fitted in way more information in just a couple more minutes.

Well, he'd doesn't, not exactly. This potter boy lost his parents at a young age, defeated voldemort (With a hell lot of help from his allies), saw a boy die in front of him, And lost Sirius, who he had just met an year ago. To top it all up, the ministry doesn't believe Harry when he claims Lord Voldemort as returned. So, he clearly doesn't.

This scene could have been so much better. Especially for people who've never read the books and are only fans of the movies. They still never explained exactly WHY Harry was part of the prophecy and why Voldemort was truly so desperate to kill Harry as a baby. That part was very frustrating. Surely they could have added just a few short minutes of this scene to have Dumbledore explain to Harry the history of the prophecy and why he was chosen.
@killer92173
@killer92173 7 жыл бұрын
Not to mention in the books, Harry has his ultimate meltdown in this scene from the loss of Sirius Black. They explain why he was chosen, and mention that even Neville was also considered for the Prophecy as well. That explains why Harry has to be the one to kill Voldemort because Voldemort chose Harry. Neville's part also gives him much more meaning when Neville kills Nagini with the sword of Godric Griffindor at The Deathly Hallows. Truly a frustrating scene

I suppose the risk for the film-makers was that they didn't want to make things too long-winded for those who haven't read the books. What I think could have helped this part of the movie was at least a couple of flashbacks - like a scene of Professor Trelawney telling the full prophecy to Dumbledore and a scene of Aunt Petunia reading the note Dumbledore that had wrote to her when he Harry with the Dursley's as a baby. That would have made things more clear for non-reader fans.

I love the movies, but I love the books even more, and they totally missed the mark on this scene. It should have stayed true to the book. I would argue this was the most important scene in the entire series. A complete and total end of innocence, that moved the series from being the kid-friendly story, to being an epic finish and story of growth. This marked the beginning of Harry's journey as a hero, and wrapped up things happening by unexplained things. most importanly, this scene in the book was a recap of the first 5 books, and explained what was going to happen in the final two.

I'm feel sorry for Harry Potter for losing his godfather. It reminds me of when I lost my grandmother. I think and feel it in my heart that their are times were I blame myself for never being their for her. But something tells me to never blame myself. I continue to understand that death is a natural part of life and that even if we lose our loved ones physically they are never truly gone because they are in here ❤. Remember the good times we've have had with our family members even our elders and if we remember those times well than they are never truly gone. I miss you grandma so much and I love you with all my heart. God knows I love you so much. I hope to see you and grandpa and my family again. Thank you for being their in my life for all our lives.

Scene aside, I just love the music here. It's so close in style and sound to the soundtrack of Half-blood Prince movie and this makes me feel like there is this slight connection between the two movies, as if the production wanted you to feel like the movies are not just separated things in a franchise but they are all connected like a stream of happenings of the same story. Of course there wasn't such an intention but this is what I feel when I hear this music piece and I think it's beautiful.

Never mind me. I am just writing a letter to the *BOOK* Dumbledore. Dear professor, You say that Sirius was old enough to not take Snape's comment about him being a coward seriously and that he should have just listened to you and stayed inside instead of coming to the ministry. I agree with all these, but when are you ever going to tell Snape that he is waaaaay to old to keep grudges against gryffindors, treat slytherins like heroes even if they don't deserve it, call a man a coward for following orders, hate Harry for looking like his father, bully Neville for he could have been the chosen one meaning lily wouldn't have died, taunt Hermione for being smart and mistreat other kids cause his childhood was bad? Also, you are almost indirectly saying that Sirius kind of deserved what he got, for he mistreated Kreacher being the reason why Kreacher sold him to Bellatrix (well, personally I hated how Sirius treated Kreacher, but right now?). You know what, it's 40% your fault that Sirius mistreated Kreacher, for you locked him up alone in a place he did not even want to see. And, you are saying all this to Harry. HARRY, who lost his only fatherly figure, his godfather just less than an hour ago. How are you doing this? You totally know how it feels like, don't you? Your friendship with Grindelwald being the reason Ariana died. And still, how can you tell all these to Harry? Maybe you wanted Harry to feel better and understand it wasn't his fault Sirius died but is this how you say it? By blaming Sirius and making it look like he deserved what he got? THIS IS SO UNFAIR! Yours sincerely, Nobody Ahh, that feels good. So good to finally write it down somewhere.

The death of sirius was like losing his parents all over again for Harry. The scene where Harry yells at dumbledore, saying he wants to give up, is one of the best chapters in the books. I cried so hard reading that like I screamed into my pillow. Its one of those scenes where you forget that you are reading a book. And afterwards when I thought everything was over, He asked Nick if Sirius will be back as a ghost which made me cry all over again. Oh and I forgot to mention that when Sirius died, Harry was waiting for Sirius to come from the other side of the veil... Also in the movies we dont see how much harry dreads to say his godfather's name. I think all this is because we dont have that narrative voice in the movies so we dont see how harry feels in all of this.

Dumbledore put Harry in danger again, he knew that being beside him Voldemort would never touch him but he didn't, he was distanced from Harry during all that year and look at what happened, Umbridge was about to become the owner of Hogwarts and Fudge was about to be the owner of the world of the magic

One of the most emotional, revealing and significant chapters of the entire series, when Harry finally snaps, when Dumbledore finally admits how much he's put Harry through... Cut down to a few half-hearted sentences. Really shows how badly the quality of these adaptations fell off after Prisoner of Azkaban 🤦

One of the few scenes that I would disagree of what Dumbledore did to Harry throughout his 5th school year. Why would he distance himself from Harry thinking that Voldemort would be less tempted, when clearly Harry needs protection from Dumbledore after everything that he had been through? The Ministry boycotting him, the majority of the school turning against him, and he lost his godfather. Dumbledore should know that he’s in the same predicament as Harry.

Well, it's obvious isn't it? Dumb Ledford was afraid that the moment he makes eye contact with harry, Voldemort would try to spy on him through the connection.
@sridevivenkatesha7237
@sridevivenkatesha7237 6 жыл бұрын
Well because Dumbledore thought he knew everything. He thought by being away from Harry he could stop Voldemort from invading Harry's mind. Like, literally! Did he think Voldemort wouldn't find out about his connection with Harry. Wouldn't he trap Harry. This is the chapter where I hate Dumbledore (I like him in other parts). But his over confidence and secrecy nearly killed Harry and his friends and Sirius didn't survive at all. But what Dumbledore does: blames Sirius for not treating Kreacher properly. I mean, what's running on his mind seriously? He understood that forcing Kreacher to do bidding of his mistresses disowned son would be dangerous, but keeping Harry in dark was not dangerous. Didn't he realize that he had taken Harry and Voldemort for granted. Without any authority he takes all decisions in Harry's life, but will not fulfill the required responsibility.

It's because the bond between Harry and Voldemort was too great, and Voldemort was using Harry to get to Dumbledore and kill him. It's more explained in the books unfortunately.

It took Fudge a whole year to realze that Harry Potter was right. He believed his carrer as Minister went the toilet. Making Umbridge a teacher at Hogwats and sending Dumbledore were a bad idea. He must of Fired Umbridge for pending the witch and wizard community against one boy. Harry lost his godfather Voldemort and his Death Eater goons were out there. The Good news is the Ministry got one of Voldemort's generals.

I feel over all, that this movie is an improvement over the book (the only movie to have that accomplishment imo). But if there was one scene that the book did far better then the movie it was this scene. they could've easily packed in so much more dialogue with only a few minutes more of runtime, but I wouldn't go so far that the movie ruined it.

England is not the only place there is magic I look at it more as cultural magic, and the English magic is like an erased culture, a lost language, so to speak, around the world there are Norse cultures who use the runes, as their type of magic, and the Chinese and Japanese who use Buddhism as a type of spell. Some aspects state Buddhism is not magic while others do state that it is. Creating spells with elemental magic, tattva mudra is my favorite. I know there are real published works of alchemist called Nicolas’s flamel he was a real guy, so maybe it’s not all conspiracy, tattva

@@saadahmad913 Yeah. I feel like we often forget how he's just a kid. He's 15. His parents were killed, he's been living in a mentally and physically abusive household his whole life, he's still mourning Cedric, he's being hunted by a dark wizard and his hundreds of followers, and the only person who has ever felt like a parent to him was just murdered in a manner where he could easily retain a lot of survivor's guilt. He's been physically tortured at school all year, belittled mercilessly by the only society that ever accepted him, and the man he thought of as his mentor has been ignoring him through all of it. Can you imagine? It only makes sense that after keeping all of that bottled up and hidden away for so long, he'd simply burst. The scene in the books makes me sob every time.

Is anyone else besides me a little irritated/disappointed that the scene in Dumbledore’s office in the movie wasn’t the same as the book? The part in the book was so intensifying. We see a completely different side of Harry and for the first time in his life he is ANGRY at Dumbledore. Why couldn’t they have stuck to that in the movie? 😠😠
