Throughout their history, and all their differences, nothing is more awesome than how easily Mikey can make Senior laugh. Considering all the fights Between the three of them, Mikey making Senior laugh will never ever get old.

Mikey never changed. The OCC parts idea paired with Harley is a great idea. Something I bet they are wishing they’d done at the height of their popularity. Just in general diversifying and utilizing their wealth to ensure more stability.

Paul says Economy but the fact is that the un rideable look cool 100k chopper fad faded away. 12 years on tv making bank and blew it all. On top he pushed Jr away didn’t help. Sad but it was a great show.

I agree with the hard tail choppers costing 80k, and only ridable during bike week has subsided; that market now is very niche. The family dynamic and issues was well explained in retrospective and there were mistakes all around, it wasn't just his fault.

WOW 15:06 such a humble explanation to really make sense of things. I followed since season 1 non-stop and watched this play out for roughly 20 years. I can't say how wonderful it is to hear Sr. speak like this and have such clarity on the situation in retrospective. I wish them all the best in Florida, and hope they have a 2nd resurgence.
@johnpemberton50892 жыл бұрын
I loved watching American chopper, I think Snr wanted it to run like a production facility, but Jnr loved the design aspect, & wanted that to flow from him as a build progressed, sometimes that takes time, looking at it, making adjustments as he went, that drove Snr nuts, he wanted it all drawn up on paper, follow that & that's it, he brought in Jason Phol to do that, & that was the beginning of the end, that's not to say either were wrong, just a different way, unfortunately they couldn't see that they really needed each other, & customers wanted a personal Jnr design, not a Jason Phol one, I don't blame him, he was just doing his job.
@JoeyMetcalf802 жыл бұрын
I liked the bikes when they just bent steel, and used local people like Nub to do paint or some guy who did frames etc. When they got big and had all those fancy machines I thought the bikes all started looking boring. The corporate bike build and themes just got old eventually. Most of their best work was when they were free to create whatever they enjoyed.

I really liked OCC, and would like to see it back on tv again. I'm not sure if, or how, it could include both Sr and Jr, unless they were in different shop's. They are just too much alike to work together. I would like to see them build cool bikes, but without all the company logos. Just bikes for regular folks with their own OCC flair.

Initially the show was interesting and entertaining. Followed the actual fabrication of the bikes and the everyday problems that come along working with family and deadlines. I looked forward to watching as I also did with "American Hot Rod". They were both good for a couple years then the producers ruined everything. I will never understand that approach being that the people on their own were interesting characters. When SR. built that enormous new shop and hired extra employees, I thought it was a huge mistake. And both businesses ended up folding. 😒

He definitely was partying hard for years. It’s hard to blow that much money and lose his house without having a serious substance abuse problem. He was probably drinking, doing coke and pills. That was the prescription pill era when all of it went down. He was stupid to leave the show when he did.

@guitarcheology3 жыл бұрын
They never had good resale values. By the last season, the only ones actually selling were auctioned ones. They rarely reached $10K. The reason they bought back a bunch of them is because they have very little used value. They are buying them back for less than they initially paid for the raw materials.
@ralphbillick12103 жыл бұрын
Senior was never the bad guy , JR. Was a typical punk kid that thought he knew it all , never had to come in on time , do what he was supposed to and never made a bike you could ride . And he was never in a true biker build off , if he’d enter he would have his ass handed to him by Billy Lane , Indian Larry , Martin bros. etc , junior could never be in their league. He made clown bikes.
