I decided to spend the last day of SteamFest 2014 at the Niles Canyon Railway chasing Santa Cruz Portland Cement #2 "Chiggen", a Porter 0-4-0T, and the "Hearst Flyer" on the eastern portion of the line between Sunol and Hearst Siding (where the NCRy interchanges with Union Pacific) and got a little more variety than I hoped for. Upon arrival at Sunol, I am almost immediately greeted by Union Pacific's Newark Local passing by on the Oakland Sub before begging my mini-chase of Chiggen. Following the chase, I headed back to the Oakland Sub and catch Union Pacific's MRVSJ manifest and KMNOA stack train then make a quick stop at Brightside Yard to catch the Niles Canyon Railway's "Daylight Limited" trains led by Robert Dollar Co. #3 (Alco 2-6-2T) and Clover Valley Lumber Co. #4 (Baldwin 2-6-6-2T Mallet).
