Newbury Park Prepares for Arcadia 2022

2 жыл бұрынA new year and another visit with the Newbury Park High School track program - regarded as the greatest distance team in high school history. It's ten days before the Arcadia Invitational and the team has one last hard work out before the meet. On April 9, 2022 the Newbury Park athletes aim to break the 3200M national record at the most prestigious high school meet in the nation, the Arcadia Invitational. Watch how Coach Brosnan directs the training and how the athletes stay physically and mentally ready for success.

I wouldn’t be that surprised tbh. I basically expect at least one Sub-8:30. Maybe 2. I WOULD go bonkers if someone goes anything over 8:23-8:25 (8:22 for example).

Aaron is a mid distance guy! Mainly 400 and 800s. I see him around a 51 for the 400 next season!

@@tomcat1319 his 800 pace is 54s/400. He’ll definitely run way under 50 for the 400. My guess is around 46 next year

That's 30 laps around the track, 27 at two mile pace and three at one mile pace. When I trained for the two mile in cross country way back in the sixties it would be more like 16-20 400 meters, a few seconds under two mile pace.

These kids are phenomenal and I love watching them run, but their splits in this workout were extremely inconsistent. Gotta find a pace.

Prediction: Colin 8:30 Leo 8:36 Lex 8:40 Aaron 8:59 McDonnell 4:48 in the mile Aaron is more of a mid distance 800/1500 guy. I see Lex and Leo being dominant in the 5k/10k like their brother. Colin is so talented he could do any event but I see him 1500/5k. He would even make a great steepler with his length. Like Evan Jager!
