Grand Seiko quartz is on another level and the finishing is better than Rolex. These are just facts and if you don't agree, you haven't done your research.

Do they hold their value or go up over time like a Rolex? Not saying that's a main factor when you buy a watch mind.

@@Michael-4 Not at all. They have the same type of resale value like diamonds, unfortunately.

@@Michael-4grand seiko only holds value if you all ready bought it on the grey market. But a watch isn’t an investment it is a tool. If you just want something to look at and pay thousands just get a nice painting

I guess that "hum hum" is a bit condescending. Grand Seiko is not loved by the grey market because margins are not there. But GS is the perfect watch.

There's no doubt that GS are way better than Rolex in terms of finishing and quality, but GS doesn't hold up their value unlike rolex

Get a Spring Drive at least. The 9F quartz is a good movement and is good for plus or minus 10 seconds a YEAR, but you can't beat the smooth sweep of the Spring Drive second hand plus only Seiko/Grand Seiko has the Spring Drive.
@raymonddiaz37834 ай бұрын
@@PepRexi am intrigued by the dead stop on the 9f qz second hand. It draws my attention even more so than the spring drive sweep.

Unless like me you aspire for a spring drive Seiko 🙃. I'd love to get the SNR049. Spring drive, titanium, GMT. A fair bit less than the titanium GS equivalents, but still really expensive (for me at least). Some day....

Rolex are boring old man watches. And the current ridiculous bubble market has illuminated how ridiculous human lemmings can be. I wouldn’t turn down a gifted one, but having the same watch as every fourth or fifth of my peers is not appealing.

School yourself before you fool yourself. Their is a difference in finishing and the way it is made. For example. The 9F is entirely made by hand and is serviceable like a mechanical watch. Plus the accuracy is insane

I’ve had both Rolex and GS. Rolex simply gives me a better feeling with all that character and history and recognition that GS doesn’t deliver on. Many GS were made without soul or personality when every Rolex has that. Bottom line can’t go wrong with a rollie baby

I had the same feeling with “modern” rolexes. They all just felt like they had no soul at all. I have sold almost all my Rolexes and only only own the explorer 1.
