NiKo has competed at eight Katowices. He’s lost three finals, two of which were consecutive. And now, finally, he’s a champion.
But that’s not all.
hunter was the MVP, jks the two-team two-time, m0NESY the youngest trophy hoister ever and HooXi, well . . . let’s just say that the ‘G’ in G2 officially stands for Gigachad.

Thats why I fucking love Hoox1. The guy is just built different. He was trolled for the first few months and he still acknowledged his shortcomings. people memed on him and he laughed with them. He had a lot of pressure and a lot to work on. And the man did it. He knows how to celebrate the success of his teammates and how to push them forward. And he is such a humble and natural guy. He truly is a gigachad...

@@ganeshmarathe2964 He didn't exactly laugh at the meme. According to what he said when they won The World Finals, he spent the first months crying because he felt like a failure to the team. Which to me is even more impressive, because a lot of people would break at that point and simply give up. Hooxi instead decided to improve himself in every aspect, so he could offer his team the IGL they deserved.

I started following the team when they had Shox & kennyS (+ Amanek & Jackz), and yet these have somehow been my favourite couple years to be a fan of G2. Niko getting signed was massive. Big props to Heroic for ending the winning streak on inferno, monster tournament from jabbi, he could just as easily have won the MVP as hunter or jks. Let's hope that faze and Navi can lift their level to compete with G2 and heroic. Well have a hell of a year with some crazy CS. Great to see heroic perform even with stavn having a generally bad event. Honestly, thank fucking god they ended it. G2 members said they didnt generally care about it and only wanted to win the trophy because that was their goal, but (cant remember who said it in a post game interview) it was almost good that they lost a map because it completely resets the built up pressure of keeping that streak alive

Gonna be honest, 90% of their stream was boring as hell, specially if there weren't any NA teams playing. He spent the whole time talking about random stuff, basically not caring about the games and offering NA CS history lessons to Liz. His reactions to insane shots and plays from other teams were so meh, and no offense to Liz but she didn't care a single second about the match. She obviously knows more about Valorant than CS and has a bigger love to that scene, so majority of the time she just stayed there listening to her colleague fanboying over Liquid.

G2 was at its weakest on the first 3 maps on the final, it was clear they weren't playing their game nor were enjoying as always, M0nesy was committing mistakes he never does and was having a lot of difficulty holding check points as CT. It was Heroic time to capitalize on it and Cadian was playing amazingly, yet G2 still managed to resist and somehow win the maps. Then on Ancient something happened after the long pause. The match started and it was immediately obvious that the G2 from the rest of the major was back. Hooxi opened being exactly where he should, and doing exactly what was needed, even hard carrying the first half, then as CTs they were impenetrable as they were for most of the time while playing CT. Amazing work

@@FacelessBeanie personally, yeah they didnt really look like the same. Distinctly remember some rounds on Nuke where they exec'ed the site but just didnt run in for some reason, or when they werent trading and peeking to trade when they shouldve. They looked really unconfident in the first halves of both those maps, only making comebacks in the 2nd half (although more for Mirage, since Nuke is a very ct sided map and they were cts in the 2nd half for that). After the map loss on Inferno and the 30 min break, it was like they suddenly were back in focus and just shredded on the T side of ancient, it was fucking amazing to watch

Quick comment on Liquid here They were playing well but G2 was just on a whole nother level this time around. Liquid couldn't get anything going against them but I think we really need to take a step back and honestly appreciate where the scene is at right now I can't really recall a time like this past year and the beginning of this year where it feels every team is just as competitive as the next and any team could win at any event. As a Liquid fan, it hurts because I want them to win as much as possible but as a csgo fan I think we should all appreciate just how competitive the scene is right now. ..... But also please Liquid for the LOVE OF GOD stop losing eco rounds. I'm dying over here.
