How a Bottom-Fragging IGL Became the GigaChad of CS:GO

In Counter-Strike, being an in-game-leader on a top roster is difficult.
You spend so much time thinking about the other side that your own fragging can take a back seat. But when you don’t put up the stats your fans expect, they can get vicious.
Every team wants an IGL who can frag, but there are only so many seasoned veterans with brilliant minds and cracked aim to go around, so some teams have had to get creative.
Enter Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, a man who by all accounts, is not the mythical fragging IGL. In fact, he spent several important games on G2 at the bottom of the server.

I'm telling you, HooXi is as cracked as he is jacked. I saw him at a 7-11 the other day and he was buying cases of Redbull and adult diapers. I asked him what the diapers were for and he said, "they help contain my full power so I don't completely shit on these kids" and then he bunny hopped out the door.

I've seen Hooxi play, he doesn't even use a monitor. He visualizes the map in a detailed rendering, completely in his mind. Hooxi is the player everyone shits on. But when hes dead he can see the game better. He can make the calls that need making and pushing the better fraggers into positions he knows they can win. The IGL is the one who has to see the whole game process all the callouts, design the strats but not set strats ones that can be adapted to use all other players in all positions which makes his strats hard to read and dismantle. That is how g2 won blast world finals. Hooxi the underdog the guy players over look but the one who has the biggest impact.

I remember as a young kid playing CS 1.6 (17 years ago lol) when I met a guy who blew my mind. He was our IGL. He played insanely aggressively at the beginning of the round and basically suicided just to get the info and then tell everybody what to do all the time. I had never thought of the game that way before. We broke top4 in Italy at the time, played in tournaments etc. so yeah, it worked for us. And apparently it's still working :D

4 guys with all aim and no brain need a guy with brain to tell them when to stp and when to go. its really that simple. if you can get 60adr on top of that you have a good team. if you can get 60adr half the time and 100adr the other half of the games you can be world champions.

Back when I actively played csgo I used to IGL for my little team of friends. We were all level 8-10 on faceit and did some pugging and small open tourneys. I almost always bottomed the fuck out the game. BUT I ALWAYS dropped my team mates guns while using a p250 myself. I was rather strict, but gave a lot of freedom. That's what worked best for us. I spend a lot of time on watching demos and around 3-4 hours a day just pacticing nades. (Found some things even pro's don't use/know) We did really good for a while, but then they started to get mad at me for not fragging. I played IGL/support so I don't know what they expected of me. Then they decided to vote me out, replace me with a new IGL, and they lost EVERYTHING since. They wanted to have me back because what we did worked out real well, but they've shown how much they care about me as a person/player so I told them to fuck off and quit csgo all together

@@abhinav4095 It's not about aim. It's about not being able to full focus on your own game because you have a team to steer. When you're an entry you simply go in first. They had a bad RMR but even then it was a bo1 close loss to c9, then another bo1 loss before the bo3 loss, and after a really strong EPL where heading into their semi finals match with vitality they were, as a team, the highest rated team in the event, after that I am willing to chop the RMR up to a bad few games at the wrong time.
