2 жыл бұрынSri Lanka, Weligama. I went to try some of the best fruits in Sri Lanka with my machan @harryjaggardtravel
We started by going to try ambarella, spring onions, sweet potato as well as a selection of other seasonal fruits. Believe me when I tell you, they were delicious!
What really surprised me was that the store vendor would not accept me paying for any of the food. I tried to pay multiple times, but the nice man kept refusing and offered us the food for free!
In the end, we got my nice man some lottery tickets - I hope he is a winner
I have never met someone as generous as this man is! He is a true representation of how hospitable the Sri Lankan people are!

1:15 - Loonu mal (onion flower) 3:00 - Ambarella (June plum) 4:27 - Bathala (sweet potato) 5:14 - Nelum Ala (Lotus root) 9:25 - Puhul (winter melon) we make candy with it. You might find in wayside shops. It's white and sugar coated. 16:23 - Jambu (Java apple) 19:11 - Pani dodam (Sri Lankan Orange)

@@GoWithAli when a nearby person insisted him to take money, the seller replied it is "Paw " in Sinhalese, meaning a sin ,he was sympathetic towards you, though he is a poor in terms of money but a reach man in terms of values.

We eat sweet potatos without cooking. Its so delicious . We grow sweet potatos . Amberalla is a fruit. Nelum ala also we can eat without cooking.

The man who sells vegetables is really appreciatable I saw in some of his videos like the ice cream man in early videos they are getting money when he gives but this man is just respectable getting money if only it satisfies with his heart even when lottery man told him to get money he didn't what a genuine man❤. The viariety of bananas you tasted is called "rath kesel" in Sinhala, meaning red banana which is the English name. Whilst being very sweet, the red banana is of great nutritional value. It’s rich in essential minerals, vitamin B6, and fiber. It contains a much higher % of beta carotines and vit C comapared to other varieties of bananas. Beta carotines dilutes the walls of blood vessels , and reduces the risk of heart attacks. It also helps dissolve renal calculi in kidneys, and strengthens the bones..

That drink must be damn nice especially on a hot weather day. We can also find that red colour banana in Malaysia in some places & its very difficult to find it. Its suppose to be very nutritious. You are doing a great job with regards to tourism in sri Lanka & I'm sure many tourists will really appreciate what you are doing. I understand that now there's no pcr test requirement to visit Sri Lanka. No pcr test before arrival & also on arrival. That's really great.

12:50 - Riped pineapples are orange in colour 😋 and you can really get the smell of it. Maybe he said that he can't cut because it's not riped. 17:05 that is rose apple(jambu), not good to eat aloooot as it is a bit heaty, but once u start eating, its not easy to stop. Finally they add pepper to the orange juice you had is because its good for flem. Oranges are rich in Vitamin C and with pepper it helps in flem or cold. Cheers machan, love when u talk sinhala. Red banana is bit more expensive than other bananas. I think most expensive banana is “Netram Palam” it could be up to 12 inches long.. normally those bananas sell individually. Rarely you can find it.. try that one too ❤️👍

1.That is ambarella and it is a fruit.you can peel it and just eat it or you can cook it.very delicious in both ways 😋 2.Yeah you are right it is sweet potato ( bathala ) 3.I also think it is pumpkin,not so sure 🤭 4. Yeah,red banana is so soooo delicious Next time try some traditional sinhala food (rice and currys) instead of pizza and burgers 😋 hope you will like it

Hey Ali machan..Fruit you ate was "Amberella" in Sinhala and "June plum" in English. You can eat it as a fruit as well as a vegetable and also you can have it as a drink as well. Its soooo goood Ali machan..Hope you enjoyed its taste... Stay safe and God Bless..💙 love from Sri Lanka...

Don't eat everything you see in the markets because some foods can not be eaten without cooking. Ask from the seller "Can you eat this without cooking" then they will tet you know. 🇱🇰
