Cam was a teenage hacker who wanted justice for mistreated animals at Sea World and zoos. He only intended to take down their sites for a few hours, but one night his DDoS attacks caused half a million dollars in damages. That's when the cops started following him.

Why do the feds always Ride so deep and come in Full Swat mode with ALL the Boys just to arrest a hacker? You never hear about 2 cops knocking and informing them they have a warrant for their arrest like they do for most felony warrants. It's like bro...what are they preparing for? They scared the nerd is gonna pull out his lightsabers and get ready for a duel??

When I got caught hacking in school they revoked my computer access, told the police, wasted 10k on metal cases for all the computers.... Smh (did nothing except cut kids fingers) They placed me in isolation for 3 months. Tbf, it did get out of control. Over 2k students arrived at school one day to realise everyone is now admin. All tools included.. My point of failure? Teaching somebody else how to do it and they got cocky.

But because the whole system had been fucked they had no way of telling if they were lying. So I received even more blame. The teachers blamed me, the kids blamed me, the technicians blamed me. One cunt even smashed a keyboard around my face to try and prove a point. All I wanted was C's 1.6 Lan games.

They put the cases on the computers to prevent access to the ethernet port, the win xp system used to download local my local user profile as a student and it was very limited in functionality, so if timed correctly you could pull the cable out which causes default admin profile or use a dummy network. You could use a word document to change default windows internet settings to allow any website, or run a .DLL file and .Bat

He admitted he was a script kiddie until he started doing CTFs. LOIC, PuTTyBooters, ETC are all deigned be to point and click so the user doesn't need technical knowledge to use the software. He mentions conducting NTP attacks which is obviously indicative of some technical knowledge, though clearly DDoS was his game. But ultimately, no, logging into stressor accounts, pinging for an IP and clicking go isn't a specialized knowledge base, and the key thing to take away here is while you can complain about the lack of technical prowess required for success, the goals Cam was looking to achieve did not require it, so personally I don't really feel it's fair judging him at this point in his skill set, he's done what any hacker worth his salt would do, and that's get the job done. When you aren't competing for brownie points, nobody cares how technical the "hack" was or is @@BacklTrack

ISP's focus first and foremost on their own infrastructure. Sure they can offer DDoS protection for customers but in most cases if they do it it's cheap, will block the most basic attacks and that's it. Don't forget ISP's themself are the biggest targets and constantly under attack. Therefore normal clients and also enterprise user's are not the top priority for them; f.e let's say they detect an enormous amount of traffic hitting them they may block ALL traffic including yours - you see where this is going. If we talk about a single ISP their bandwidth is limited, and they simply will care about themselves first. ISP's also don't protect against any kind of protocol attacks. DDoS protection simply isn't their core business, there exist more than enough security-first vendors with certain products which can spread incoming traffic over different ISP's and data centres to balance and absorb incoming attacks more effective

oh I'm glad he said it, he was just a script kiddie at the time. It's hilarious how they crack down so hard on people who are honestly either very curious or very clueless, or a combination.. the UK is honestly not being kind they're just being smarter to recruit. The US pushes borderline case people into lives of crime by punishing anyone who crosses the legal system super hard.. as if that deters anyone from the above.

Copper asked to play CoD with him?... My Uncle was a cop. That's the kinda thing he would have done. Even if he was playing bad cop, he wouldn't be able to stop himself.

Like the fella from the Spielberg movie “Catch Me if You Can” with DeCaprio. The forger ends up working for the feds, helping them catch forgers.
