The turtles on our lake in Minnesota come close to shore and freeze solid. Come spring, they are good to go. Craziest thing to witness when there is clear ice and no snow.

Thanks for the updates with a Hoorah for Nikk. Your place looks great. I just got a complete cement removal and replacement + sewer line repair. Drainage is finally correct. We are in for a horrendous fire season this year. I am ripping out all grass & airborne irrigation. Colorful drought tolerant low water ground cover going in. New induction range and Chevrolet electric vehicle.

Nick.. build a power rotate chair using a car seat with seat belts.. so you can sit and strap in. legs extended. hit the power switch and start spinning.. the G force of your feet out swinging will force blood to them.. spin for 10 to 15 seconds then stop.. climb off and lay down with your feet up for 30 seconds to drain the blood.. this gets much more fresh blood flowing to your legs with the spin and the draining it out with the legs up.. repeat 3 or 4 times per day.. you will have to figure out a counter weight so you don't wobble all over the shop on the base.. you can use a wheel perhaps with a tire filled with water as a base.. the matching hub and bearing assembly. with a brake rotor on it. a motorcycle sprocket bolted to the rotor face.. and a lawn mower starter motor with a chain sprocket on it mounted to the seat base.. just a small battery. there is nothing worse than trying to heal scar tissue without this trick..

Looking back on the build..I had a great friend help with the electric system..which was simple..but a complete wire harness.."plug and play " Garmin eng. monitoring etc..915..141 hp..outstanding

It was great seeing how far Nick has come since the accident. Was well worth no flight shots in the video. People are amazing how resilient they are. Happy to see Nick in such a great place. But yes need to get on building that plane and get back to work nick as Mike Patey would say!

Hey Trent. Place is looking enviable. Since you are a techy kinda audio visual guy I thought I'd share something I did years ago. I built an all natural 2000 gallon pond in my backyard and installed two underwater video cameras which I routed into my living room. Amazing how entertaining watching your fish live in their environment can be. All my fish are native (bass, crappie etc ).

Glad you did the walk around your house and was impressed with Nikks story before and now what update!

Probably less noise too, smaller diameter, reduced tip speed. Wonder if the new 'electronic pitch control' is much lighter? I think they are using that on the new 'Dark Arrow' kit... Trent Thanks for the update on Nikk . Sure is so nice seeing his smiling face once agai . I like his new home . Is that his 5th wheel trailer in the garage . It looks beautiful. Would love to see Nikk do a tour of it . I love to see other people's RV's . Do you think you could make it happen soon after talking to Nikk about doing a tour of the 5TH wheel ? Your house is looking great . I suggest putting a cage over the chicken coupe so they don't get killed & eaten by wildlife which would be very sad .

Our weather, went from a freeze warning, to 103F within one week. Been a terrible spring, as far as weather goes. Been constantly windy, unable to train in our PPC.

Have you checked e-prop props? They're french, made specifically for the Rotax engines and *extremely* light (But test them in flight, they're meant to be partially stalled at 0 kt)

Great to Nick recovering. Regarding your prop. There are some good electric in flight adjustable props. They are not as heavy as the hydraulically adjustable ones. I have limited experience of the Fiti prop it was very light and seemed to work very well.

Actually a good update, thanks. Regarding the prop, one less complex system is at least one, if not more, less potential failure mode. A constant speed prop on the Rotax probably makes more sense for higher speed cross country plane. Regarding Nick's problem getting his surgery site to close, has he seen a wound care specialist? That's what I had to do to get a post big toe amputation wound to close. The doctor put me in a two atmosphere hyperbaric chamber, for two hours a day, over the course of about thirty days. That did the trick.
