Alistair Overeem’s affluent career includes over 80 fights, a collection of titles in two sports and a plethora of knockouts. Rampant power combined with a versatile style immortalized him as the first simultaneous MMA and kickboxing champion. Recently, the 42-year-old Dutchman put the big gloves on once again. It's time to look back at his illustrious run in the ring, where the Demolition Man dismantled legends and became the last king of the original K-1.

They didn't show his horrific lip laceration vs. Rozenstruik a few years back. I was watching that fight live when it happened. Alistair was dominating the entire fight; he easily had the decision in his favor. The final seconds of round 5 he was kind of running around the cage waiting for the bell and he got lit up with a clean haymaker that ripped his lip wide open. Absolutely horrific injury. @APOLON-bm7ym 3 ай бұрын
Saying that he hits harder than Iron Mike is a CRIME, but I get it, they did it for clicks. But, I wonder if he could EVER made those successes without "mexican medicine", so MMA and others should either introduce MUCH MORE rigorous control of illegal substances OR make them legal for everyone... Nowadays we have such "boosters" that are very hard to detect. The one that is almost undetectable makes red blood cells to "take" more oxygen, and that champion-biker (i dont remember his name - he had testical cancer) admitted it. I mean, many young ppl competing on high or highest level will take ANYTHING not thinking whats gonna happen afterwards - and since we all did stupid things as younger = only one that can prevent them from doing so IS their trainer. And often, trainer is the very one who supplied them with banned substances. Trainer should watch his trainee AS HIS FATHER WOULD and not as an investment.

And last thing, take the word "like" out of your vocabulary. What does "do 'like' no damage" even mean? Either is does no damage or it doesn't do damage. @@thegodsrockstar Again, it doesn't matter what you guys think. 70% KO rate is excellent in the heavyweight division. Wilder may have a more powerful punch but the irony is he was KO'd twice by a heavyweight that you think doesn't have much power. Fury has in fact KO'd 7 out of 10 of his opponents. So please reasonably explain how he doesn't have power & the ability to KO other heavyweights professionals? And your point is completely moot. K-1 hated the idea of an MMA fighter beating their own stars so much they instituted a rule specifically to slow Overeem down. They made a rule that you could only throw one knee per clinch.

The Reem is a massive man. I’ve worked production and talked to him a few times and he’s a very strange looking human. Almost animalistic like more than human but his demeanor is that of eloquence and is no fool. His stiff hooks are moneymakers. You can see his whole body especially his hips turning into the punch. That’s how power is generated. Inertia. When a lessor but equally as gigantic fighter uppercutted him into orbit I was picking my jaw off the ground. It was a clash of the Titans.
