As a Manga reader, when Yhwach first appeared, some people thought that Kubo was running out originality with drawing new characters when Yhwach looks like Zangestu, but then it made SO MUCH SENSE

People said this was a reach and wasn't foreshadowed. But forget that white literally told us all in the past "I am zangetsu"

4:36 Bleach was always deep and complex with characters emotions, mental states and development, along with how Kubo writes so poetically. A lot of people just didn't want to give it the light of day and decided not to pay too much or not enough attention, because of it being a shonen series all those years ago and not many people payed attention to that stuff back then. Bleach and Kubo were 110% ahead of their time in that aspect.

Now it makes sense as to why the Quincy couldn't steal ichigo's "bankai" because it wasn't a bankai at all but his Quincy powers

Ichigo's Zanpakutou awakening is so cool that his reiatsu evaporates an entire sea casually, yet that's the least memorable part of it because of how meaningful the scene actually is to his character development... That's a flex

I've been waiting so long to watch anime only watchers freak out over this. The compilation is greatly appreciated :D

Kubo's subtleties in his writing is what most people miss out on a lot of the time, it doesn't detract from the story but if you catch it, it elevates the story a LOT. For example, Yhwach and Jugram discussed taking Ichigo back to their palace for "conditioning" or "re-education" turning him into one of the Sternritters... Implying they could potentially brainwash anybody into becoming one of their own... I think the purpose of this scene with Uryu was to give the blind hope to the viewer that, "maybe, he got captured and brainwashed like they wanted to do to Ichigo" which would make sense given the fact that Jugram was capable of blitzing Bankai Ichigo and breaking his bankai, regardless of whether he was fatigued or mentally frail, the fact that anybody could intercept his speed and break his bankai with just a casual swing of their sword even in that state is quite an impressive feat. Basically, Jugram was shown looming in the distance when Uryu was alone to give you the idea that he's here to capture or kill Uryu (which he should be capable of as demonstrated when he clashed with Ichigo). And when Yhwach refers to Uryu as Jugram's "subject" and later as his "son", it's basically Yhwach saying "experimental subject" and by calling him "son", he's acknowledging him as a purebred Quincy whilst claiming him as his loyal soldier. If you didn't pay attention to Yhwach and Ichigo's little chat, or Jugram's importance throughout the invasion and his portrayal, it probably wouldn't even cross your mind.... and that's why the reactions are "Uryu you bitch" or "traitor" or "no no no..." .... they missed the set up entirely, I missed it too on my first watch through. Obviously, the assumptions about Uryu being a double agent is right and he probably joined willfully (it'swithin his characterto do that). Likely Yhwach doesn't use such mind tricks anyway, it's just the fact that Kubo planted that idea in the viewer's mind several episodes ago. People are supposed to view Uryu as a loyal yet conflicted friend, so it should be doubtful whether or not he's actually doing this willfully or being brainwashed to do so. Binging Bleach will really help you piece things together better. (that's likely why they released both episode 12 and 13 on the same day).

Yhwach is the source of all Quincy and their powers. No matter how many generations it gets passed on, He is still the one and only source of their power. It makes total sense that Ichigo's Quincy power originated from Yhwach himself.

From "The blade and me" to "The blade is me"

This makes Ichigo so much more of an astounding phenomenon, a living being that is a perfect combination of all 4 entities: Human, Soul Reaper, Hollow, and Quincy. That means that Ichigo still has the potential to master his Quincy blood powers, making him an entity that is essentially beyond the abilities of any other being. No wonder the Zero Squad was so keen to training Ichigo to become the next Soul King. He quite literally fits he position to the T. If anything, he would be stronger and more stable than the current Soul King.

I feel so happy watching the chills of other people watching Bleach.

Old Man Zangetsu always sought to protect Ichigo, while White Zangetsu always tried to make him stronger so he could protect others. OM Zangetsu manifests Masaki’s will W Zangetsu manifests Isshin’s will Protect Ichigo and help him protect others

Funny seeing people reaction to Uryu going to yhwach, it’s so obvious he not actually switching sides for real. I can tell. Like think about it, yhwach is the reason his mom is dead I think he’s pulling a gin.

When the blue (Quincy) and red (hollow) lights turned yellow (Ichigo). What a perfect visual imagery of the line “the blade IS me”. He is his blade. Theres an older chapter/episode tited “The Blade AND Me”, where Ichigo first learned Zangetsu’s name, fighting WITH his blade.

Thid episode was the most beautiful from an artistic view. I loved this adaption, that they decided to cricle it back to the OP in the beginning, and then the monochrome look in the water. It was sooo awesome.

I find it so surprising how people can be so shocked and hurt that he joined the quincy. Like what did y'all expect? Even 10 or so years ago when I read the manga I always wondered what uryu would feel and do and would not be shocked if he joined.
