Sam Rubin, who died suddenly Friday at age 64, was remembered as one of the most recognizable entertainment reporters in the business and a fixture on morning television news. NBC Los Angeles' Lynette Romero remembers her longtime friend and former colleague.

@@teerollings6919 I know I feel for Lynette Romero and the whole KTLA news reporters. I loved Chris Barrous too and Sam Rubin. It's very sad. Jessica Holmes was close to Sam. She is having a hard time too. Time will heal all sorrow.

Sam Rubin was a great icon in the news industry. He made KTLA 5 what it is today. He was ever so good at his job. He loved everybody and everything about his job I always loved watching him on the news. He always had a big smile on his face. Was so funny and happy all the time there is nobody else like him. I am definitely going to miss him. It's just not going to be the same anymore to see the news without Sam Rubin there his passing definitely left a big hole in my heart. He will be missed so much.
