His smiles, laughter, voice, and presence, such as at award shows (i.e Oscars) will forever be engrained in the lives of many. He joins the legendary KTLA reporters who brought excellence to news coverage (i.e Hal Fishman, Larry McCormack, Stan Chambers), and have come and gone. He will forever be missed. Thank you, Sam!

Sam Rubin LA Legend like Kobe will miss you. Sam Rubin have watched him since the beginning. KTLA was my news station in LA. Now in Vegas I am sadden but happy to have enjoyed his presence as part of my life.

I’ve watch KTLA since ‘04 or ‘06 & when I was in elementary school/middle school once in awhile in the mornings. Once I got to high school if I would wake up late I would watch through my first period sometimes & I always loved the Sam Rubin moments the most! And I’m senior year I took journalism & we got to go to the KTLA studios & I was like famgirling when we met Sam he was so nice

I started watching from Hacienda Heights every morning in 1991 and was hooked. I am so sorry and will miss Sam. 64 is too young to go! What a treasure he was for Los Angeles.

I feel like he was the OG, the reliable smile, full of subject knowledge (but always eager to learn more), kind and witty, endearingly corny at times, but the best in his field, unparalleled yet approachable, a trusted source and constant presence - a friend in the business who kept us in the know. I guess he's to KTLA what Vin Scully is, was and always will be to the Dodgers. Like Vin, Sam will always be missed....beloved....irreplaceable.
