I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty disappointed with the ending. Nathan got fouled and it wasn't called, then got called on a foul that really wasn't one. I know that the refs job is hard, and honestly they've been doing a pretty good job, but those 2 calls pretty much condemned Nathan. Not cool man Edit: NextChapter, clarified alot of things for me. Looking forward to the next episode!

reffing can definitely be very challenging in these games. Everyone is continually taking contested shots and driving on their opponent so fouling is much more frequent than a 5v5 game. However, looking at the foul in .25 that was called on Nate in the final play, his arm did come down and smack Daedaes arm. Then the follow through hit the other arm as well. So it certainly was a foul. The previously play where Nathan slipped and kept his balance by using his off hand on the floor… in a 1v1 refs aren’t going to really seek out a foul call after a possession goes like that. It was certainly an overzealous attempt at a jump ball for Daedae but the ref let them play on. In all the 1v1’s we’ve filmed, this play feels just like the possessions we see where the offensive player loses his handle, picks the ball up deep on the 3 point line and has to shoot a pivot fading away 3 from super deep and tries drawing a foul and even IF it was a foul, refs don’t look to call those as frequently so it needs to be very obvious and alter the play significantly

I only noticed one bad [non-]call at the end. @26:50 Egregious travel by Dae Dae that swayed the momentum. Would have been called in previous seasons. I don't think the refs in S7 and S8 called a single one (did they?).

Refs were tripping. I like both players not biased at all but I feel like that ref was. There was at least 3 calls against Nate that were all ball and Dae Dae got calls Nate wasn't getting. That last call was horrible and swung the momentum.

Nathan being able to use either foot as a pivot out of the triple threat and being able to shoot off of either one is tough. Not many players, even high level ones, can do that. Great win by Dae Dae though.

Only problem with Nathan this game is that he's super outta shape and that kills you on O and D, thats all. Just wait till next season when he gets back in the lab and get that cardio back its gonna be a whole different story. This is not even a 10% of what Nathan really is i promise you. The motivation is right there now to come back to his usual version and even a better one!
