What's also neat about this scene that I don't see anyone else mention was how Eggsy's sleight of hand was hinted at early on. When Harry took him to the Kingsman tailors shop/armory for his first fitting, he tried to pull a similar trick so he could pocket a hand grenade lighter. Difference is that Harry caught him.

Entertaining movie. Honestly the craziest part is that the look away distraction on the wall didn’t need to be so long. They could have cut it by half. Experienced pickpockets are so damn fast when they commit to a move and they can adapt to changes with such fluidity it baffles the mind. I know a guy who had a misspent youth, reformed, and now he does it just for fun, immediately gives the people their stuff back, shows them how he did it, and how they can protect against it. Many years ago I saw an interview with Michael Caine where the interviewer asked him why he did so many movies, some of them of questionable quality. Michael Caine explained about growing up in poverty and once to achieve some level of success, it became almost impossible for him to turn down any movie because there's always that poverty from his youth, looking over his shoulder. He's a favorite of mine, but I wouldn't be surprised if he dies on a movie set someday. Cary Grant was the same way, and though very wealthy, would ask for money, even a quarter, when asked for an autograph. Childhood poverty and hardship casts a long shadow.
@traditionalnative4 ай бұрын
@@jamasters62wow. As someone that came from poverty, this is a mindset I'm fighting very hard to get away from while I'm still young so I don't end up successful and scared that everything will disappear. I strongly believe in not letting the present pass you by for fear of the past/and or/ future, as well as to give as .much as possible, no matter the possible suffering for yourself. I've given the shirt off my back,my last cigarette, my last dollar/change I had at all, and never regretted it for a moment. In my culture, we believe that wealth is not measured by the things that you have, but by the things that you give away. I hold my culture very dear to my heart, and this mentality will never leave me. I'm also a devout Buddhist, and very much believe that getting too attached to the material will only be a detriment in this and your next lifetime(s), whatever that looks like to you/for you. It's stories like these that make me even more determined to fight against the scarcity mindset. Love live Michael Caine!

One of my favorite movies! I like the scene where he assumed that his parachute didn't work and he got in Merlin's face and was set straight.

One of the greatest modern action films and one of the most slept on comic book adaptations ever made! Say it with me kids: Matthew Vaughn can do no wrong! Even his "bad" films are really fascinating and I feel like people will warm up to them over time. But his good films, like Kick-Ass, Kingsman: The Secret Service (the entire series is great, but the first one is by far the best), X-Men: First Class, Stardust, etc are surprisingly good.

Michael Caine is amazing in any movie, especially as the villain (also Interstellar (sort of))
