Nooo they cut the best part. Right when Arthur(old man) is dying he drops his posh accent and in a heavy cockney accent he call eggsy a dirty little prick(same accent and speech as eggsy and his people have) showing that Arthur had been wearing a mask in kingsman to come across as the gentlemanly type but in reality he likely came from similar backgrounds as eggsy

What's also neat about this scene that I don't see anyone else mention was how Eggsy's sleight of hand was hinted at early on. When Harry took him to the Kingsman tailors shop/armory for his first fitting, he tried to pull a similar trick so he could pocket a hand grenade lighter. Difference is that Harry caught him.

Entertaining movie. Honestly the craziest part is that the look away distraction on the wall didn’t need to be so long. They could have cut it by half. Experienced pickpockets are so damn fast when they commit to a move and they can adapt to changes with such fluidity it baffles the mind. I know a guy who had a misspent youth, reformed, and now he does it just for fun, immediately gives the people their stuff back, shows them how he did it, and how they can protect against it. It’s a community service party trick.

Many years ago I saw an interview with Michael Caine where the interviewer asked him why he did so many movies, some of them of questionable quality. Michael Caine explained about growing up in poverty and once to achieve some level of success, it became almost impossible for him to turn down any movie because there's always that poverty from his youth, looking over his shoulder. He's a favorite of mine, but I wouldn't be surprised if he dies on a movie set someday. Cary Grant was the same way, and though very wealthy, would ask for money, even a quarter, when asked for an autograph. Childhood poverty and hardship casts a long shadow.
@traditionalnative

@@jamasters62wow. As someone that came from poverty, this is a mindset I'm fighting very hard to get away from while I'm still young so I don't end up successful and scared that everything will disappear. I strongly believe in not letting the present pass you by for fear of the past/and or/ future, as well as to give as .much as possible, no matter the possible suffering for yourself. I've given the shirt off my back,my last cigarette, my last dollar/change I had at all, and never regretted it for a moment. In my culture, we believe that wealth is not measured by the things that you have, but by the things that you give away. I hold my culture very dear to my heart, and this mentality will never leave me. I'm also a devout Buddhist, and very much believe that getting too attached to the material will only be a detriment in this and your next lifetime(s), whatever that looks like to you/for you. It's stories like these that make me even more determined to fight against the scarcity mindset. Love live Michael Caine!

He was so bloody good in these movies. Kingsmen was so much fun. One of those you can watch any time, and it never gets old or stale. The 2nd one leans into the cheese a bit hard, but it's still fun and has some great scenes. Especially Elton as he turned them down for the 1st and then saw it and called them and said I want in if you make a sequel.

Nah, the first one is still just as awesome. They leaned way too hard into the cheese though. And they should have left him dead. But it's got some fun action in it. Channing is actually great in it. Too much Deus Ex Machina from the Americans. Elton is fucking brilliant though. He turned down a role in 1 and when he saw it called and begged to be in a sequel.

One of the greatest modern action films and one of the most slept on comic book adaptations ever made! Say it with me kids: Matthew Vaughn can do no wrong! Even his "bad" films are really fascinating and I feel like people will warm up to them over time. But his good films, like Kick-Ass, Kingsman: The Secret Service (the entire series is great, but the first one is by far the best), X-Men: First Class, Stardust, etc are surprisingly good.
