Hatchlings only make this kind of noise when they feel threaten. It is basically a distress call. Literally translated into "Help me!". The mother usually ain't far from the baby. If she hears the sound, at most in 3 minutes she will be there. In certain species of Caimans, not only the mother but any adult that hear that sound will rush in to the scene. I believe i don't have to remind you how much more vicious a mother is compare to a normal crocodile.

@F Kelley The mother got at least 100+ babies to take care off. Sometimes, a minority of them will wander out of her sight but they never go far. That's why i say the mother will rush in to the scene in 3 minutes max because that's how far the mother are away from the wandering hatchling.

They make the cutest lil noises ever 🥰 I want one so bad, but I live in the city, so that wouldn't be a fair life. I have four bearded dragons and I'll tell you what, reptiles are much more emotional than most think. They're extremely intelligent, emotional, sentient and amazing beings. My male bearded dragon, Gizmo is my emotional support lizard. He will come and lick away my tears when I'm crying, he's an amazing boy. My boyfriend's white female, Keelo knows how to play a movie (not from the remote, but from the TV screen she'll try to press play)! My bf's baby male and female also know how to get out of their homes. I also taught my male his own reflection by going to the mirror, showing him my reflection with him in my hands. He realized it was him when he saw the reflection of me petting him (he was also full grown at this point). I put him in front of the mirror all by himself and he recognized his reflection! He sat there and stared at himself (no joke) for two hours straight! He literally has a human ego now and it's adorable as well as hilarious.

For those of you who don't know, the lunging is a natural reaction for Crocodile babies in order to intimidate what they preceive a threat in the wild. Anything bigger then itself is considered predator to its existence at that age. Its wired into them instinctively and so they lunge to defend themselves. Hence the calling out sound its doing to identify the person. Even handlers who have Crocs over the age of 10 still mention that the lunging still persists due to human height vs their height. He isn't teaching the baby to lunge, all he might be doing is triggering fight or flight but as you can see, he calms it down.

When the baby crocodile lunged himself towards the owner, we all already know that is foreshadowing about what is going to happen when he grown.

People forget that Crocodile is an apex predator. It can kill humans easily.
@_aWiseMan2 жыл бұрын
Humans are also an apex predator so it makes sense theirs an entire state with people who pet gators and crocs and ride them to work despite how dangerous they are Yep im talking about good ol Florida it always goes back to Florida if crocodiles and alligators are mentioned

He is so cute. Back in the fifties, they used to sell them in the pet stores, My Dad got one for my little sister and I, But it started growing everyone had to turn them in and some people flushed them down the toilet which filled the sewer system. I guess that wasn't a good idea. But he sure was cute
