Watching gameplay vs actually playing are such different experiences. Monkey moon makes it look so easy but then you go to play and it’s almost like everything feels faster paced when you actually have to go do it and you realize how hard it actually is to do what he’s doing consistently

It'z mesmerizing, he's not going full speed, he respect his teammate even if he got 100 times their skill, he's not doing fancy reset everytime, he reserve this for the right moment, boost management and placement is unreal, so effortless

Look at that boost management. That's how you get out these low ranks. You use next to no boost, and travel around pads to stay close. He's dominating by just fitting around his teammates and being solid, not by ballchasing and carrying with flip resets. Such a uniquely efficient player M0nkey is.

This is what gives monkey moon longevity in his career, a lot of pros in a c3 lobby would probably be trying to style and outplay everyone where as monkey moon only does what he NEEDS to do to win the game he's in, and can pop off when need be, look at the game hes in, hes not trying to overwhelm the other team with crazy mechs and plays, instead hes in rotation with his team, boost managing and mainly trying to be a playmaker, he's one of the smartest players in the pro scene, no wonder he's had one of the longest reigns near the top

I remember a few years ago, I think it was in a rizzo video, where him and sizz played a game with arsenal, who at the time was in champ 3, and I was so scared to get demoted back down into c3 from gc1 running into him I didn’t touch rank for 3 weeks just to be safe. Turns out, the only games he played that season, were with rizzo and sizz and I got demoted anyway for playing scared instead of just playing my normal game

9:35 Man, I love this touch to the corner so much. Just the perfect amount of power to put the ball precisely where it needs to be to be as safe as possible. A counterattack from the other team is on, and with a simple, soft, precise touch, the entire thing is completely defused.

the thing that I appreciate most about pro play is how optimized individual touches can be. MM's touch off the backboard at 3:17 is a good example, expertly timed and causes the opponent's third man to miss as they aren't used to such strong clears in that scenario, ultimately leading to a goal. Wouldn't be as impactful in a pro lobby that would be prepared for stronger clears, but it would force more respect/less aggressive positioning from the attacking team.

Honestly could be a good change and make ranked 3s more relevant and populated. That would also decrease queue times at the higher end. To some extent its kinda weird that the format used for the biggest tournaments is the playlist not even (semi)pro's play.

The reason it works so well from a goal explosion is nothing more than the force of landing on the wall, which is a result of the speed and also direction (down the wall utilizes gravity). It is therefore similarly easy to begin an infinidash from jumping from the floor and landing on the wall with a wavedash, or even from driving across the wall at any downward angle (although this isnt quite as simple to start the dash sequence as it is less forgiving). I am excited to see more applications and uses of this mechanic in the days to come~

I'm not a pro, but I've been semi casual 2s main since the dawn of this game. My 3s rank absolutely does not reflect what my mmr should be because I just don't play the mode. Yeah I'm washed and again, I'm not a pro... But I am a legacy GC so I do know what I'm doing. People see titles or whatever at lower ranks and just call you a smurf, boosted, or bought if you dare to make a single mistake. Still, the cleanliness of MonkeyMoon's gameplay is something to behold.

If RLCS opened a lower bracket for SSL players that are just regular Joe in the sense that there not professional. It could open up a bunch of more exciting content in the sense that it would be a showcase of up and coming, older players that started later, and retirees. Kinda a haven for playing in the eyes of the public while setting a less competitive tone. I think it could grow organizations allowing players that are great yet not able to be a world contender to be professional still yet.

I'm GC1 in 3s. I went into Euro servers hoping to find him. Instead, I played at high ping against Euro players that kicked my ass. lol.

So wait, Pro Teams can now directly decide what their seeding is? They could decide what Seed to hopefully try to be, manipulate whatever Group or opponents would be? Really?

I can with 99.99999% confidence say they won't be seeding based on ranked MMR. For qualifiers, RLCS seeders always seed established names at the top, for example when Vitality had to go through open quals in Fall Split last season. RLCS seeders have always used ranked MMR to seed players who are unknown. I can't imagine there being any changes in the seeding methods for next season.

Ever since I got to champ a few days after the new year, every game has at least 1 gc. Ranked is broken bro
