Today we take a look at Shell Oil Depot, Kingsbury, Tamworth B78 2EF.
As soon as we arrive, security come out to speak to us.
We are then joined by a senior member of staff who ask us not to do this and that whilst we are out on the public footpath.

its very common when so called people with some power reach the point where they realise they have no power in a situation they pull the 'give a stupid warning to an adult about safety' card. police do it all the time, 'sir could you not stand here on a sidewalk next to a road for your safety'

First guy not a problem, he was decent, gave his name and was simply doing his job. However the second guy smiling, trying to be smart but talking down to you, all bluff and bluster about ringing the police to let them know someone is filming I'm sure and not giving his name/turn the camera off when he was the one who walked up to you. He gives that impression he would chat and smile but shop you to the police at the drop of a hat.

The main reason most people remain calm for you DJ is because you are always polite, this is one of the main reasons you are so popular, it's the same for PJ, both of you unless provoked are always courteous, professional, and always give a clear indication of your intentions, this is when dealing with anybody from security, police or a member of the public. great audit as usual DJ I look forward to watching more of your upcoming videos, and currently working my way through your older ones too.

I will leave it up to readers to determine the merits of an employee thinking he has a right to ask many questions to a member of the public in a public area while hiding his ID, maybe a SIA badge. Anyone defending this idiot (second guy only) MUST be a security guard .

Notice that they only have one pipeline in, unleaded, premium, diesel, etc. all come down the same pipeline one behind the other ! There is a minimum speed that the liquids have to travel at in the pipeline to stop them mixing.

I feel relatively certain that that guy was dying to go hands on and was only afraid because you had the camera going. Could you rig up a two-camera system where one will continue recording after the first one is turned off and see if, when you turn off the one he thinks is the only one, he still behaves himself? I think he deserved for you to not be quite so polite after a while. Refuses to identify himself, starts barking orders!

“If I were to stay here being in your video while I’m asking you to stop flying your drone and im expressing how I think it’s illegal, if I was completely confident, I would be expected to back it up and to physically stop you right?” Watch out for this sort of thing in future, if they said that and you said “yes” without stipulation it would be a contract at that point allowing them to physically stop you on public land. Key points of contracts are that both parties offer something and both parties agree (you need proof like a video to take it up legally basically.) In this example contract he’s offering to be in your video in exchange for satisfying a motive of physically stopping you.

Yep, that temporary restriction zone will be gone by Friday (then replaced by another till August 9), it's for the commonwealth games setup. I believe it's because they will have lots of low flying aircraft flying cargo over.

Fantastic work again from DJ although it was a shame there was no drome footage. Entertaining and informative from the start to the end. The first security guard seemed ok but you'd think the the Karl Pilkington lookalike would know about auditors and dromes based on the fact that he reckoned to run the refinery - although he hadn't even heard of the place down the road that DJ mentioned 🙄. I have to say I was nervous watching this as I expected DJ or his little bike to be hit by a petrol tanker skidding out of control. My life has changed recently after I saw adverts and stickers everywhere telling me to "stay safe" so I decided to follow this advice and I am still alive 🥳.

It’s very interesting how none of these company personal know the law and DJ does. They should look up KZfaq before entering into a conversation with you. Then they might save themselves a lot of embarrassment.
