@@scarletevans4474 I think you're misunderstanding me, I'm not defending anyone, I'm not a lawyer, you're free to roast whoever you want (or you can), that boy is a legend, no quotes, no questions asked, it's not an opinion, it's a fact, and I never said HE shouldn't have a queen, I said 14 year old kids usually do hang their queens due to lack of attention or skill, which is completely different. But hey, you also have the right of getting offended for no reason at all, that's absolutely up to you :D

Early queen sacrifice was only the warm-up. Not bothering to capture a queen for free. Castle check. Chasing the king to the far corner of the board by force. Multiple options for beautiful checkmates. Black never even moved a piece on his queen side. Incredible game even if he was 40 years older.

It's like the battles in medieval era and before, where the army isolated the enemy king with it's personal guards, and killed him. Beautiful checkmate but respect also to the opponent that continued playing instead of resigning.

Eero Einar Böök (9 February 1910 - 7 January 1990). Probably would have gained more recognition if not for WW II. Yeah, we'd like to see his game against Alekhine.

Once the king is in that far to enemy territory the end is not that far off but if the king finds sanctuary the tables can be turned

When white plays e5 at 2:44, it's marked as a mistake. I think it's better to take the pawn (with pawn or queen) or bring the bishop out to attack the queen. Black would end up with many trapped pieces and pins because of mate threats. (The black knight is in a really silly place trying to stop the bishop getting to f7, so you don't need to attack it with the pawn. It's effectively dead already).

If I was playing this as white, I would have gotten nervous once black king took white light squared bishop, and doubted ability to force mate. Taking the queen right away would still have been awesome tactic... skewering right after sacrificing queen, and forcing black king forward is great in and of itself. Unbelievable that anybody could see that far ahead and see they could force mate, while losing light squared bishop no less.

Great video! Name pronunciation was completely off the rails, though.😅 Eero is somewhat close to "aero". For the öö in Böök, it's close to 'u' in British "further".

Yes, I have been correct by a great chess historian on this one and will pronounce better (certainly now that Böök is phonetically “Beuk”). I have a question - aero pronounced “airo” or “a-e-ro” ? thanks!

"airo" is close. The actual wovel sound doesn't occur in English, but think of e in "let" and stretch it to roughly double length. Or if you speak German, it's like "eh" in "sehr".

7:24 You’re completely misreading this position, and missing forced mate. King b6 is forced mate by Bishop e3 (not the rook to b5 move you looked at). King forced to c6, light squared bishop to b5 is mate.

1st, I would not have moved the queen to attack f7, but if I had found this continuation I would have grabbed black’s queen. Obviously I am no master player.
