Today you meet David Bronstein. Or maybe you know of him already. He was runner-up for world chess champion in 1951 and here we see him play as a nearly-retired legend. Except: Old is Gold.

I have this game on one of my father's chess books,he also was a GM with a rating of 2460… sadly i lost him on 2012 due to Cancer complications.. Nevertheless i enjoy playing the game, analyzing it,hence i used to do this routine with my dad. You've got a new subscriber here, greetings from Greece.

17:00 He's up 8, you didn't mention White's got two pawns. Thanks for the game. I was reading 'Endgame' last week, Frank Brady's biography of Bobby Fischer, with lots of new material and a more objective assessment of Bobby which I thought was fairer. Bobby twice mentioned that he was most wary of Bronstein; thus through analysis, he felt Bronstein was the most dangerous because he could play all aspects of the game brilliantly. I enjoy your channel, keep it up!

I think you defined Nimzo Indian defence wrongly . Nimzo is characterized by d4 Nf6 c4 e6 Nc3 Bb4 i.e after Bb4 only it is considered Nimzo otherwise different openings like BOGO Indian defence may appear . Correct me if I am wrong. By the way this is an extremely high level game , shows quite well how strong these world champion candidates are , can easily destroy titled players even when they are old and not in best shape of mind. Thanks for the game

10:00 I saw every moves that white played from this point onward until checkmate, the d7 pawn was screaming to be captured lol!! Brilliant game!! Ps: I'm just terrible at openings (and the traps) and not very good at achieving nice position to actually getting a chance at executing brilliant moves!! 🥲 Btw it was a nice game by both of them!! Bc6 move (although inaccurate by the engine) is definitely an interesting move in that position!
