I would give it all back if he paid me what I had lost on it, plus 20% for my time and trouble. If he couldn't come up with the money, I would have given him his personal papers, photos, and stuff that is important to him, and his kids and kept stuff non-sentimental stuff I know I could sell to get my money back. Just by filming him, and his stuff, you made your money back and then some for years to come due to adsense revenew. I don't film, so I would have no choice but to get my money back from the owner.

I’m a single father who got full custody of my daughters and no child support. I’m glad to see another father out there who is putting in the work as well and glad to see he got his kids stuff back. U did a great job helping out a good dude. This dude is why we have a Fathers Day. My daughters are in college now and have still never seen or met their mother in over 20 years.

Glad to see he got his pictures back. You did an honorable act. I do think you should set some rules for the future people that contact you.This guy seemed to be legit, but I think you should probably clear out the unit yourself take it back to your place. You go thru it (separate it and put the items you are going to keep out of their sight. Then have them come get what they want and if they are looking for something and you have,then you can decide if your going to give it, or sell it to them,or keep it.

Been there myself but we never got anything back as a kid at 11 we moved 300 miles away all stuff was moved by movers put in storage . When we got here found a place to live my dear sweet mother alone with 10 kids could not afford the storage fees her boy friend that talked her into moving here did not help out as said would. We lived many many months no beds cloths furniture dishes i mean nothing slept on the floor using curtains to cover up . To loose everything you ever had as a kid is hard can't imagine how my poor mother felt only now looking back can understand. Your a great person really nice to see you helping out even if cost few bucks good on you sir .

I have often wondered while watching Storage Wars if someone was watching the show and goes, "HEY! That's MY stuff!!" lol I think you did the right thing. I would totally have given him everything he wanted for his kids. Some stuff can be replaced, but the pictures and memories can not be replaced. You have a heart of gold. Awesome!

Your a good Man I have nothing from my childhood, pictures, nothing I have had to start over so many times due to my parent irresponsible habits, have the items this man found would have been awesome, just thinking of the storage lockers that my parents had full of mine and my little brothers stuff my grandma's and grandpas etc. It sucks and I thank you for helping this man do what he felt he needed to do as a father!

You may have made a few hundred dollars from the items he took, but as you say, they're priceless to him, I think it was a lovely thing to do, you can see he wasn't trying to have you over, because of the items, his kids didn't own Fabergé eggs, just memories, of which you have reinstated for a whole family, minus the mother, I don't believe in god, but I do believe in karma, this will pay you back for being a decent human being.

I figured you did it because not doing it would make you cry and doing it feels so awesome. I met a lady on facebook while playing games. She had problems with her computer and I knew it was some malware they downloaded. I told her I could log in and fix it by remote and I did and when I was done she told her daughter. Her daughter freaked and yell and told her I was a scammer just stealing her money, how much did he charge you? ... nothing. The daughter changed her tune when the computer was fixed and much faster. I wasn't doing anything else and I hate for her to suffer. It was only logical. I think you would be a great host for a kids history show.

You're a Hale of a good guy! You did the right thing, no doubt about it. The man and his kids will have a great time going over all the pics and things, and you, your reward is apparent from the man's reaction. I've always believed and tried to live by "Doing the right thing is its own reward." And, you will be blessed also for your actions in this family's life. Kudos to you!

when you went through the box with the blk powder and powder horn,and gator head. you picked up the antlers with the flint knife heads. the greenish bead that fell out is a native american medicine/spirit charm. and the pouch it fell out of is a small medicine bag =)

I would have done the same thing.. I think you are an awesome man. If I was to loss me storage I would loss alot of memories in it and hales yes I remember the Gremlins.
