Might not be enough space for an anchor to be effective in this location. The anchor chain needs to lay on the bottom, which with the space available, does not appear likely.

I got a phone call on my bike last weekend, I pulled over(I was waiting for the call) As I'm sitting on the side of the fairly busy road talking, 3 different sets of bikers stopped to ask if I needed help. I don't know how many times I've seen a bike stopped. I've slowed and at least gave a thumbs up. If you get a thumbs up back, you keep going, if not, you stop and try to help. If it's them today, it could be you tomorrow.

Both engines stalling out...dude got some bad gas. It has happened to me once. It was way back during that transition to ethanol gas, roughly 2006-2007. I filled up my boat with pretty new engines. No issues at all the first tank of "real gas" then I put like 100 gallons of this new ethanol (E10) and both engines shit out at the same time leaving me being pushed through a bridge by the current. Talking about engines with less than 100 hours that ran perfect prior to the gas fill up. Not saying ethanol is the issue here, could just be bad gas. But I have never put ethanol gas in my boats since and never had a repeat problem.

The simple answer is that people are afraid to get their feet wet. I always turn off the engine before well hitting the bow roller and then close the gap with the strap. Most of the time I'm launching alone, so I'm going to have to get my feet in the water anyway and might as well crank it in.

@@TheVonMatrices in the later years, my GF was getting seasick a lot so I went fishing by myself many times. The ramp that I used was such that you had to motor off and on the trailer, sort of like a concrete beach. I made an aluminum walk way on the trailer's tongue so I could just exit the cuddy cabin, climb down onto the tongue and crank the boat in the final inches. All of this without getting my feet wet as my tow vehicle was a cargo van. Just walk right into the van via the rear doors.
