Great videos Nibs. My friend and i were in our favorite pawn shop yesterday and he had two Winchester 52s available. The one we saw had a thumbhole stock with an adjustable barrel system that i’ve never seen before. The other was at a gunsmith getting a trigger job. The serial number on the second one showed it’s build date in 1930 and it had a Tasco 16X Unertl style scope and the owner said it was in very good condition so my buddy bought it using the available pictures, didn’t want to take a chance of losing that one. The 52s are new for me, watching your videos and Elijah’s, beautiful workmanship. Thanks.

Those are a pair of excellent Win 52's. Both are incredible shooters. I love the look and feel of the by gone blue steel and wood rifles compared to today's chassis builds.

I have a 1929 Pre-A Model 52 that has a bit of Winchester history. It wasused in the 1939 Pershing Cup Match against the British to bring back the Pershing Cup to the USA. Below is the detail from our shop page when we got this beautiful Winchester Model 52 completed. Sad you cannot post photos in replies, it truly is an incredible firearm. Thank you for your review on the "King of the 22's" Rick Mansberger Redmond Sports Group REDMOND SPORTS PRESENTS WINCHESTER 1929 MODEL 52 Pre-A .22 We were happy to get this restoration completed and we can honestly say we are very, very, pleased. Shown here is a 1929 Winchester Model 52 Pre-A that has ties to the 1939 Pershing Trophy Match Team. That year R.C. Pope was a team member sporting a Model 52 with a custom barrel made by John Dubiel. The American Team won the Pershing Trophy back that year from the British Match Team, first time since 1931. The Model 52 Pre-A weighs 11.8 lbs, has a barrel length of 27.5" with a muzzle diameter of 0 95" at the crown and a diameter of 1.040" at the receiver. It has a Lyman 48 rear peep sight and Varner front sight. Dick William's Gun Shop of Saginaw, Michigan handled the hot bluing and Redmond Sports repaired, restored, and refinished the stock with 7 coats of hand rubbed tung oil. The Model 52 is a dream to shoulder, a delight to shoot, and accurate at 50 yards to produce one hole for 5 rounds. This is why the Model 52 is truly the "King of the 22's" and remember.... First on the Frontier.... First On The Firing Line... Winchester, It Is Your Heritage

While your "Pre-A" was indeed made before the 52A, it's really a Slow Lock model as opposed to the Speed Lock that immediately preceded the 52A.

THANK YOU Nibs! I LOVE taking my old .22s out for a range date. Cheap ammo and no bruises (ala 30-06 180 gr) make for a fun day. Need to get out to the club soon to finally check accuracy with a few with different loads with my Glenfield 20, Win 77, my dads old H&R Pioneer 765 & of course my 2 Glenfield 60s. Not as fancy as yours, but still fun.

@@WalnutandSteel I haven't been in the collection game as long as you.. I have 2 of the 3 Glenfield "critter" guns, need the 30 to complete. I have 4 1957 Winchesters so far that I take out for a noisy birthday bang in Nov. When I get a few things straightened at home I hope to add to that.
