We want to be able to run 3 freezer and 2 refrigerator at the same time. Would this be a good choice and would I have to plug the freezer into a multi plug?

I have the GENERAC IQ3500. I have about 200 hours on it. It is used for both my business and RV. It has been great. Zero oil consumption. It will run my RV with AC going for about 9 hours pulling 16 amps. I have also routinely run the full 3000 watts on it, and it doesn’t complain. With light load, it gets about 24 hours on a tank of gas. I get lots of comments on how quiet it is. I had a Firman Dual fuel inverter before this, and it was way too loud for RV use.

The most important information in buying a generator will be found by opening them up. Inside you will see the engine manufacturers and specs, determin the mounting & cooling locations for the inverter boards, and gain an over impression on wire/hose management to protect from heat/elements. The inside will provide the complete picture spec sheets and outside panels omit.

i've had my honda since 2007 with zero problems and wrth every penny although the generac looks pretty attractive.

I bought two of the generacs iq3500. I live off grid and run solar in Michigan, but we have lots of cold and cloudy days, so I thought these would be a great back up solution. I have been mistaken, these generacs, low oil light does not work, they leak oil, are very loud and I have had both of them in the shop inside of a year of ownership for shutdowns, no restarts. They have been covered under warranty, but I plan on calling generac to see if they have some type of return policy. Really unhappy with them. Almost impossible to change the oil, the dipstick is hard to reach inside the generator, and you have to tilt it after putting in oil to check to see if your levels are correct. Recommend changes after 100 hours. I have done this a ton and had to buy a special pump to remove the oil, because there is no oil drain. I would recommend against the generic.

We have a generac iq3500 which was purchased in 2021. We are in the panhandle of Fl. and haven't had to use it yet. We start it up generally every other month and store in covered in the garage. My frustration with this is I can barely read the digital display moniter. I do have to wear readers but I can't make out the remaining fuel. I see a tiny icon of a gas pump. Could you do a quick video showing someone going through the display readings? Please......🥺

You should do a real world testing and I say that because I have a Honda 2200 had for years and I have the IQ 3500 Generac and the 2200 Honda produces more power and uses less fuel than the iq3500 does I'm not sure how they get there numbers.

I have the iq3500 for about 4 years now it’s been great but the screen display only shows hours and can’t find a replacement for it … .. next one will be a Honda 7000 just to get more power and the easy of access to parts I wish Generac would up there parts availability game

I bought the Generac in 15 July 21...And lots of problems with it...I had the Honda 3000....They are high but the quality of Honda is well noticeable after a few years...Im very disappointed with this generac and its hardly 3 years old...I'm gonna call again tommorow about this....Better think twice about getting one...I hate to leave a bad review but it left us in the dark tonight Camping on the river....I always thought generac had a good name we use the big ones at work for backup generators always had good luck with them. But this one sure has disappointed me..😢

Honda will always be a A Honda! However, I'm poor so the Generac will do.

The Honda sucks in comparison! The only down side to the generac is it runs out of fuel 6 hours sooner and that’s because the fuel tank is 40% smaller which aids in its whopping 20 pounds lighter weight over the eu3000is. Personally I would rather refuel a little more often than to have to lift 20 extra pounds into the back of my pick up on my own.

Do not buy Generac by Honda!!! Generac does not back up their product they do not back up their warranty it’s an absolute joke I’m just warning people because I purchased a new generator and Generac won’t give me the time of day, they do not back up their product it’s a waste of money spend the money and get a quality product like Honda And at least Honda has enough technicians in the United States to honor #Warranty repairs etc. I basically purchased a expensive generator that’s absolute garbage and worthless to me I haven’t been able to even use it do not buy Generac folks
