If they did not know 2001... Man, that was the most legendary run at Wimbledon ever. Goran went in with a wild card and beat Moya, Roddick, Safin and Rafter which were all number 1 in the world at some point to win his first and only Grand Slam title at the tournament he loved the most, in which he got defeated in the final three times before.

Čilić should get extra point for knowing every year when Sampras won. He was traumatized in those years like most Croatians, Goran Ivanišević is responsible for most broken TV remotes in Croatia during 90s.

Yeah Roddick's loss in 2009 was a killer, 16-14 in the fifth and the last game was Federer's only break of Roddick in the entire match. 0-3 vs. Federer in Wimbledon finals, but 2009 is the one that I'm sure really stings.

@@dmdasoriginal2714 for me it was easy but what was shocking to see them not associating extraodinary seasons with what happened at wimby. Like for example I think every tennis fan knows 2011 season as a first dominant season for Nole and they couldn't associate it, but I guess it's different perspective for me and different to the players

@@idc9053 I was thinking the same! 2001, the year of the Ivanisevic fairytale. 2003, the year the Big 4 domination of Wimbledon started. Wimby 2008, the most legendary match ever, Roger finally dethroned after a record 5 straight wimbys. 2011, Djoko unplayable, basically only lost at RG (guess to who…), etc. etc.

It's kinda crazy how Djokovic is on the way to win his 7th Wimbledon title, only one less than Federer but people still think Roger is so much more successful, even the fellow players are putting Federer everywhere

@KSadin But federer won 2 GS on grass in 10's as well and was a better player in 19 wimbi at age of 38, i myself put novak over federer overall as GOAT but on grass federer is the best. He was still making multiple finals including winning couple of them even in his 30's. Besides he did have some competition o0n grass courts with guys like hewitt or roddick or even henmen.

Man we the fans know much more about tennis history than the pro players. We're a bunch of nerds. Like to me naming the champs isn't even a challenge. Name the finalist would be better one in my case. I still think I could do it.

@@Madferit91 Wimbledon is absolutely the easiest, I agree. USO for the years 2000-2021 is also straightforward. For the AO, I'd have to check for the very early 2000s as I've forgotten who made the final in what year, but 2002 onwards also easy. These guys have got nothing on us, hah.
