@@HEADacousticsInternational Test a gas stove at, e.g., five different powers. Record the acoustic signal and the sound pressure level [this latter will not be a precise value, but their ratios will be]. For the acoustic signal, you can use, e.g., the Spectroid or Spectrogram app (there are a lot of apps out there to do FFT on the microphone signal). For the sound pressure level, you can use, e.g., the Andro sensor app. Evaluate the measurement results, please can you solve for me as I am facing for problem

Hi Till! Great video! Sounds like I don't need FFT anymore :) are there any restrictions or any cases where I should rather use simple FFT but not HSA?

HSA is perfect for a multiple tonal frequencies mixture like a gear box / engines / mutliple modes. For broadband noise, when the source is piece of mood, it will loose its advantages. I recommend to start your analysis with a standard FFT vs time. That is you base ground. If you want to get better results then calculate an HSA analysis with a soft setting. Like shown in the tutorial. Then you can pimp your results with four more tuning measures. For a first practise on your task it is good to start with a short (5 seconds) snipping of your measurement. I recommend to start with 2-times enhacement / 8-12 iterations / background suppressed / 90% overlap. If you miss some frequencies you like to see, then increase the number of iterations. Is this is still an overload of colors reduce the number of iterations. Then check the effect of the frequency enhacement. In 5 minutes you will have a analysis plot adapted to your needs. Save this for this application :-)
