The statue is the Virgin Mary, they lead off the show with 'Ave Maria' with a cute little stage show as an intro to the techno version of Headbanger. At the end of the show they perform 'Babymetal Death' with another interaction with the statue. It's also supposed to be an homage to Metallica and their performance in Mexico City with the statue from 'And Justice for All'. The religious imagery is only for decoration and no religious meaning is meant.

Great reaction the statue in the back is believed to Su’s face on it as the whole concert was to celebrate her 16th birthday as she was born in 1997. Yui and Moa were 14. It was filmed December 2013.

Ah yes that moment when you know that you really do like this band. All Babymetal fans go through that, mine was shortly after discovering them and I woke up one morning with Megitsune playing in my head at the time I didn’t even know which song it was just that I needed to find out and needed to hear more.

Your new hairstyle makes you younger and cuter! BabyMetal will hold their sixth concert this year in Japan today. Tickets are sold out, so even if we can go to Japan now we can't go to the BabyMetal concert!

Imagine what it was like when this song was first played. How different popular rock music was at the time. Babymetal creates a new genre of music Kawaii metal. Heads spun, folks lost their minds. Haters hated, they just couldn't believe what they just heard. 10 yrs later Babymetal is still here. And now many haters of the past are starting take a second listen to Babymetal. And finding out, you know what this band is actually really good. Babymetal like a true rock band legend are a head of their time. Sadly also like true music legends, they have gone through tuff times as well. Guitarist has an untimely death ( Mikkio fell from a stargazing platfom), Yui leaves for health reasons. Now Su and Moa with their avenger Momoko carry on. And I for one can't wait for their next album.

Great reaction - and excellent effort with the pigtails, good job. You have plenty more BABYMETAL to see yet and every song will be different but most with this same sort of energy and getting the crowd fully involved. You go to a BABYMETAL concert and you're right, you come out at the end sweating and exhausted - but with a huge grin on your face having just had the best fun and the time of your life. 'Catch Me If You Can' live at Budokan, Black Night would be a good song for your next reaction - avoid the horrible compilation video even though it has most views, the proper concert version is the one to see.

Nice video! This was performed at Legend 1997 concert at Makuhari Messe with a crowd of about 20,000. In this performance, Mikio Fujioka was on the lead guitar (the one who did the solo), Leda Cygnus on rhythm guitar, BOH on bass, and Hideki Aoyama on drums. It's just too bad that Fujioka-san was already gone. He fell from an observation deck while stargazing in Dec. 31, 2017 and passed away in January 5, 2018, just 2 weeks away from his birthday on January 19. Stargazing is his hobby. The song Headbanger is about a girl going to her first ever metal concert in her 15th birthday. Yui and Moa performed the second verse as their solo part on their birthdays. Yui took the lead vocals on her 15th birthday while Moa sang it on her 15th and 20th birthday. Since that you're already aware of how amazing Su's vocals is, I guess its time for you to see to witness the insane skills of the Kami Band (their backing band). I recommend you their song Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of Gods Intro Live at Budokan Black Night. It has an intro with each members of the Kami Band had a chance to show off their talents. In this video, the guitarists were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. Mikio Fujioka was not here because he's not available. This was performed in 2014, 4 years before his untimely death. Catch you at the foxhole! Kitsunes up!
@mr.osclasses50543 жыл бұрын
You're a little off on the figures. This was only about 8,000. The one they did for "Road of Resistance" at Saitama Super Arena was about 20,000 people. Makuhari Messe does have the ability to open up to have larger crowds, but this was still before their first album dropped, so while it was a good size crowd, they probably wouldn't have sold out 20,000 seats just yet at that point. Even still, I would say this performance really helped spread the word about them in Japan and built up the anticipation for their debut album.
@stephenhaythornthwaite77623 жыл бұрын
I am obsessively watching loads of BM videos but I actually thought this was Mikio playing, with the make up it is a little hard to tell to my western eyes. I only fell into the foxhole 2 weeks since and I am a little (read a lot) obsessed both with BM and the kami band. Feel so bad about the little guitar god passing, I am a fellow stargazer. And then yui left, 2018 was not a good year for them. Love and peace to all.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 When they first started doing this choreography, the two youngest members, Yui and Moa, used to get sore necks. Once they had been doing it for a while, they built up those muscles and were fine. : ) 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' was an early BABYMETAL hit, and is in their current playlist. It was also one of the songs on their album, '10 BABYMETAL YEARS', which features 10 songs from the three studio albums remastered by legendary sound engineer Ted Jensen.

Great reaction! I really haven't seen anything else that's so complete a package of entertainment as BABYMETAL. It's so much more than just music. Their live shows have so many different elements, and whichever one of them you turn your attention to, you notice that it's on an incredibly high level. Whether it's the musicianship of the instrumentalists, the vocals, the compositions, the choreography, the energy, the stage design, the girls' stage presence, the crowd participation... There's really not much room for improvement. I have never enjoyed a band like that before.
@cuttysark80173 жыл бұрын
Fun reaction! The statue is a combo of Su and The Madonna #notacult. The Legend 1997 concert celebrates Su as she was born in 1997 and it opens with an Ave Maria techno version of Headbanger that is bonkers...and entirely mimed. It's Babymetal's energy and the cuteness combined with power that makes them special. This song is about a 15 year old girl braving the mosh pit at a concert, but wistfully realizing that her moment of freedom won't last long as she'll soon have to take on more adult responsibilities. For this performance the song probably had a lot of resonance for the lead singer, Su-metal, because it was on the day after her 16th birthday and she'd recently graduated high school and also left the idol group "Sakura Gakuin" to start working full time with Babymetal. The other two girls, Moa and Yui, were just 14 and so were still members of "Sakura Gakuin". The Kami band played for the last three songs of Legend 1997 and I think this is where Babymetal really became a world class act. The final songs were Headbanger, Akatsuki and Babymetal DEATH and if you listen to them one after another you will see the progression and the story of a young girl leaving childhood behind, accepting the need for strength and commitment and finally sacrifice to fulfill her destiny and the plan of the Fox God. The statue has a role in all that. Even if you don't get into the lore, the energy of Headbanger followed by the emotion of Akatsuki and finished off with the insanity of Babymetal DEATH is a real trip. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7Kif7Z-ytS1iaM.html

@nichtwitzig3 жыл бұрын
You got that right. It is not "here is the band and there the audience". They make the audience part of the performance with a kind of high energy feedback loop. "Don't think - feel" ... This is beyond crowd control. Once audience and band became The One, there is nothing left to control. And this bond lasts longer than the show. Feel it in the comments :)

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I believe you have already check "Road of Resistance" performed in Glasgow last year. They also played this song there and there is a fan-cam footage in KZfaq. In your video, you heard the Japanese crowd shout some words at 06:04. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!". This shout occurs wherever they go on this planet and whenever Su-Metal directs her mic towards audiences. The Scottish crowd did the same thing. Next song? I recommend you to check their bigger crowd control at huge outdoor festival. Please react to "BABYMETAL Karate live UK Download 2016".

One thing I didn't notice until just recently is Su's minute reaction during this. The first time they go into the bridge with the crowd participation of jumping, they cut to the crowd and then back to Su and you see her eyes get this glint in them and every so slightly widen at the sight of the entire crowd jumping. It was almost like she wanted to smile or even just lose it at seeing that, but was able to keep it reined in. Awesome!

Getting to a BABYMETAL venue before the sun comes out, lining up in the queue, getting your number, hanging all day long with The One talking and sharing about past BABYMETAL concerts, seeing people you only get to see when The ONE gets together in the queue, then when its time to go inside, its a mad dash to buy your merch before its all sold out, then another mad dash to get to center barrier, to get crushed by The Wall Of Death... yeah its exhausting for BABYMETAL fans, but worth every second of the experience, There is nothing like a BABYMETAL concert, It's an awesome experience. So you are correct about the crowd being a part of their performance. They try to always have the crowd involved. To Babymetal, the fans are the most important thing to them. They even created a song dedicated just to their fans as a tribute. The call their fanbase "The One" because they are United in the metal-verse. One thing you might also be interested in is that no two Babymdtal songs are alike. They thrive on each song being different from one another and they love playing with and exploring the different genres of metal. I have a feeling ypu two would really enjoy Megitsune. Or if you would like to hear more of Su-Metal's singing skill, then maybe consider Rondo of Nightmare next with Mischief of gods intro. But really, it doesnt matter which song you choose as all their songs are very good. You also have a new subscriber :) If you want to try another Japanese band, you might like Bandmaid. They are also good, although personally, I do prefer Babymetal, that doesnt take anything away from how good Bandmaid is though!!!
