Great reaction and thank you for the English subtitles. It looks like Sander has good knowledge about BABYMETAL, so I'm sure he can explain the finer details and answer most of your questions. I liked your shock when he told you how old they were - and they started in 2010 when Su-metal was 12, Yuimetal and Moametal were 11. To explain some of their lore BABYMETAL are three girls chosen by the Fox God to unite the world through their music and to lead the Metal Resistance against the hold Jpop and Idol music had in Japan over the music industry at that time. The Kami Band who support BABYMETAL (kami means god or spirit) are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL in all their live shows and in their battles, which is why they wear the traditional burial robes and corpse face paint. In reality they are among the very best session musicians to be found in Japan. BABYMETAL started as a sub-unit of a Jpop Idol group called Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy) and they would sing and do their dance routines to a backing track with the instrumentals. In anticipation of them separating from the Jpop group they played some solo shows and in those the instrumentals were mimed by guys dressed in skeleton suits (they were called Babybones) and the Kami Band were phased in gradually from October 2012 playing at a couple of festivals and playing the encores in a few shows. Legend 1997 was in December 2013 and was the last big show where the Babybones appeared - the Kami Band came on for the last 5 songs. In 2014 BABYMETAL played in SIngapore and Taiwan and Babybones went with them, but in March 2014 they played two nights at the Budokan in Tokyo (a very prestigious venue - they were the youngest average age female band ever to headline - and they sold out both nights ... their first album was just about to be released). At the Budokan the Kami Band became their full time support for all live shows and they have been with them ever since. To give you an idea of how BABYMETAL mix things up in their live shows I would like to suggest three songs all live from the Budokan shows for your next reactions. First 'Megitsune', one of the fans' favourite songs which shows just how good the girls are together. Second 'Rondo of Nightmare' with the 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' instrumental intro by the Kami Band. This will show you something of how good the Kami Band musicians are followed by one of Su-metal's solo songs so you can see what a good vocalist and performer she really is. Finally 'Onedari Daisakusen' this is a 'Black BABYMETAL song - that is how Yuimetal and Moametal were known when performing their songs as a duo without Su-metal.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 That's pretty great. Everyone noticed how much fun they are at their live shows, and appreciated the level of talent involved. A lot of people get converted eventually, but you all really "got it" right away. Even though Su has a beautiful soprano voice, I love that she sings a lot of this one in a lower register. That always sounds great. 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' was one of their early hits. Even though the song is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, Su was only fourteen when this was first recorded. As was pointed out, this December 21st, 2013 'Legend 1997' concert celebrated Su's 16th birthday (which was actually the day before this show). I hope you do more BABYMETAL reactions. Every song is different, and they're all really good.

The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!". This shout occurs wherever they go on this planet and whenever Su-Metal directs her mic towards the audiences. BABYMETAL's activities have been worldwide since 2014. In the latest world tours from June 2019 through March 2020 (prior to the pandemic), they performed live 20 times in USA, 19 in EU/UK/Russia and 1 in Taiwan in addition to 15 in Japan. This year, they have carefully restarted their concerts here in Tokyo taking very strict countermeasures against infection. (ps. Grington300 300's information below is very helpful)

First off, Sander is the man! Excellent choice of performance for their first reaction to Babymetal. And thanks for not saying too much about them beforehand or during the performance. I've seen so many reactors when introducing Babymetal to fellow reactors give away all the surprises because they were too excited. Giving them minimal info makes the reaction much more genuine and better IMHO! I echo the appreciation for the English (and also Portugese) subtitles, very nice touch! Glad to hear you will be doing more reactions to them and holding off on listening to their other stuff right away to save for the reaction. We're all excited to see! Loved watching Catherine and Lucas' eyes pop out lol! Lucas is right, if more people would be open minded to different things, they won't miss out on great stuff like Babymetal! You guys are going to love the Kami band ("corpse paint guys"), they are the best and lots of fun, lots of attitude! Hello from France Very good reaction, it's not because you say good things about BABYMETAL, it's because it's interesting to listen to you :-) . I'm a 55 year old guy, I've been to a few Hard Rock Heavy concerts since the 80's, I've seen a lot of the bigger ones and the smaller ones too, but I stopped for a few years, because for me, nothing new, I'm not saying that everything was bad, far from it, there was some good stuff produced, but nothing new. And in 2019 I see the poster of the Hellfest in France (one of the biggest festival of extreme music in Europe, Hard, Heavy, Punk, all the sub-genres of METAL, 180 000 festival-goers over three days, the biggest ones go there), and there, I said to myself, BABYMETAL ???, group of young people who do METAL ??? I went to see on youtube what this band was, I did like everyone else I took the first video with the most views, "Gimme me chocolate", then I said to myself, they're going to get shot at Hellfest, it wasn't possible to invite a band like that and have them play at 5.30pm on Saturday on the main stage, so I went to see something else from them, and I fell on my ass, never seen or heard anything before, it made me think of Metallica when they appeared in the 80s, they were revolutionizing the Hard/Heavy music with their Speed, at the beginning at the time, I was like the Metallica of now regarding BABYMETAL and I thought what the hell is this shit, nothing to do with Hard/Heavy, but I went to see what the band was doing, and it was great, but I never heard it before, well BABYMETAL is exactly the same thing, but unlike Metallica, they created another sub genre of METAL, which is called Kawaii METAL to bring in those who aren't used to METAL music. As I'm sure others have suggested it already, but if Brazilians like power metal, you need to check out "Road of Resistance" Live in Japan by BABYMETAL as well. Straight power metal, and if you were shocked at the drums in this one, just wait. So many (including RoR) that have faster drums for their songs. I'm also sure that someone has corrected you, that it is Suzuka (or just Su, or Su-Metal), not Suzaka. Great reaction and looking forward to more!

Creio que este vídeo abaixo seria interessante vocês darem uma olhada, se não viram ainda, para sacar a evolução delas. Elas tem duas bandas, a Kami band original e a western kami band para shows no ocidente. Existem vários shows da turnê mundial filmados por fans em 2019 e início de 2020, alguns de boa qualidade, vale a pena ver. Elas entregam ao vivo o que prometem. As bandas japonesas, como Band-Maid e Lovebaites, fazem sucesso por causa disso, vc vai ver um show melhor que o disco.
