Headlight bulb replacement on a 2nd gen 2005 Honda CR-V EX. This DIY applies to both high and low beam bulbs as they are the same. Note: 2002-2004 CR-V models DO NOT use the same bulb type. Thanks for watching and good luck on your next project.

Thankfully I am a 67 year old woman with small hands! Hardest part was replacing the clip and the boot and dealing with the 30 degree temps and snow! Great video. I watched it twice as my entire bulb shattered and the orientation of the bulb in the fixture was not evident as it came out in pieces. Saved me a fortune. Bulb was $5.85 at NAPA. Came out with 2 few nicks and a cut finger due the glass fragments I was stupid enough to try and remove with out gloves. I have your site bookmarked!

Your advice was invaluable! Saved me the trouble of getting the wrong type bulb (has happened before). And the step-by-step removal instructions played out in real life for me. Remembering the bulb holder alignment for example, as well as pressing in on clamp and sliding down. All of it was so helpful. Thank you for taking the time to make this practical DIY video.

Great vid! One thing I would like to add for people watching is to wear gloves and don't touch the glass part of the bulb, the oil from your hands heats up when the bulb is on causing premature failure.

Changing the bulbs on a 2008, which are all in one, but work the same way. I thought I was going to have to remove stuff to get room to get the bulb out on the driver side. That's until I saw your video. Thanks man, you saved the day. Super easy, took all of 5 minutes to replace both sides. Note: the rubber boot center pushes in flat, which makes it easy to get into the small area on driver side, then pops back when in place. Thanks again for making my life a little easier.

Thanks Dave! Your video really made changing the bulbs easy. A couple things I might add in are using dielectric grease on all the connections and to remove the passenger high beam connector plug to provide a bit more room while changing the low beam bulb.

Thanks...I just changed my low beam driver side bulb on my 2005 Honda CRV and it literally took two minutes. It was even easier (thankfully) than what you had to do in your video. The retaining clip easily unclipped and clipped back into place without and "hell" ;D. I was concerned about this part of the job. Now my lights work great. Thanks for the video...you saved me $50.00 what the dealership was going to charge me and a 3 hours wait. You have a nice patient demeanor and were easy to learn from. Was able to change the bulb after watching your video. Worked exactly as you depicted. Like other people, hardest part was releasing the metal clip. Even cut the tip of my index finger in trying to unhook it. Recommend wearing gloves or some protective wrap like band-aids to prevent cuts as tip of clip can be sharp. Once clip was unhooked, it was a snap to finish the job. And he best part is that it only cost 5.95 for the bulb at Walmart. Thanks for saving me money and time Dave!

Thank you SOOO much! Only thing I found difficult was removing the clip. If you shine a light inside it is possible to see the clip, which helped me get it out. The triangle tab was at the top and then I pushed in as instructed on the video and after some fidgeting it came loose.

It's pretty tight on the passenger side. Wiggle the rubber tabs side to side instead of just pulling. Like someone's tip below, place a rag underneath in case the bulb /housing falls. It helps to take a picture of the clips w/ your phone as someone said below. Too unhook: push clip in then away from the center of the vehicle. It helped that someone held the bulb while I tried to clip it back. Thanks for the video
