ooh wow. this is very helpful. I seen another video how this is done & they showed a different way, going thru the settings and turning off couple of things off. but this makes more sense.

I’m an analog guy, but I’m thinking about one of these for FX in the FX loop. I would use it just like this. So I keep my analog hand wired tube goodness, but can add whatever into the FX loop. One unit that does all the modulation. Most stomp boxes are DSP anyway in a box that looks analog. So if they’re basically digital anyway, get them all in one unit. Yeah you’ll be upgrading every so many years, kind of like the POD remember when that was the shizzle? But you’ll be bored and want something new by then anyway. I won’t give up my analog goodness, I’ll always choose a mic on an amp. But, what a powerful tool, to add to your analog rig.

I really liked that !! I bought my HRPB from you last winter and frankly, I've not even scratched the surface of its capabilities, much less hooked it up any of my amps ... lol I'm going to get with it now though .. thanks, brother !

I just got my Headrush pedalboard yesterday & found this video. Connected it to my Blackstar HT-5 via the effects loop as you suggested & it sounds AMAZING. Awesome, helpful video. Subbed.

I love my amps too, so I run my headrush pedal board into my jcm600 head and into my orange 120 head but I'm not getting stereo sound with with left and right outs in to the front end of the amps. I have not tried the 4cm yet.

Thank you for this! I’d been looking for ways to make my Gigboard work with my JCM-900 and almost settled on the 4 cable method before running into your video. Boy what a difference! I went straight into the power amp section through the effects loop and actually used a JCM800 modeled head as a preamp and it was simply amazing!!! Super quiet operation and the ‘kill switch’ option is quite useful. Truly impressed with the tones I got! Thanks again!

Quick question, but If you plug the headrush gigboard directly in the Power Amp of your guitar amp and you don't use a simulated amp on your headrush rig, you are not using any preamp ? Also, if you're not using both the FX send and return of your guitar amp, what is the purpose of using a Fx Loop block on the headrush ? Couldn't you just connect the output of the headrush towards the power amp of your guitar amp with the same result ?

Question I did exact the same! But I use a laney tube Amp but the gain is not really there??

A better more simple way to do it which will allow a lot more versatility is to just run the Headrush output to the power in section of the loop on the amp. Disable any IR's used in the RIG you setup so the amps speaker is being used.

I started out with a gig board a couple years back. I sold it to pick up a fractal Fm3. Now I've also decided to grab another tube amp(Mesa trip crown) and of course want too be able to have multi effects for that rig. I was going to use the Fm3 for effects on the tube amp but decided best to get something else. I went with the mx 5 headrush to effect up my tube Amps. Now my question is: (difficult of course) In the real world of tube Amps I would not put certain effects post amp meaning after..... I. E. - crybaby, anything that effects the tone, boosts, eq's, dist, gain, etc that I would set up as pre. But for post I would do time effects such as delay, reverb, etc..... Will the headrush allow for this to happen or because its digital just set up best you can and hope for the best? I've always used effect loops for multi effects. I do not like just running it like a basic pedal straight into the input of the guitar. Hopefully I explained this correctly and you understand where I'm going with this. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

that's a good video. I've been considering getting a HR pedalboard and use it with my amp cause I love its celan app and I just want to use it instead of pedals. It would have been good to see a comparison between the sound of the guitar straight to into the amp and maybe with a pedal or two and then with the HR to see if something is lost.

Anyone have any advice for using the Headrush Pedalboard as an effects loop out of an Aura Spectrum DI Preamp (Fishman)? The Aura Spectrum has an FX loop output, which I have used with analog pedal chains with a send and return insert cable. But I can't seem to figure out how to configure it to use the effects on the Headrush Pedalboard.

My issue is I have my Marshall and I love it but I want to use my headrush as well. I don't want to go out and buy a powered speaker unit. How can I get the best sound using this setup?

Hi and greets from germany. I`ve got two questions regarding the 4 Cable Method. Do you always set the position of the switch (RACK/STOMP) to "RACK" and how did you set your MASTER volume level? In one post someone recommended to set the main level always to max, while using the 4 cable method. Thx in advance. :-)

So I have a line running from left mono on the HR to the return on my amp. Fx loop is on, I got nothing, I tried plugging my guitar into both the input of the HR and the input of the amp (you skipped that part) and I have no sound. What am I missing?

Great video. It confirmed pretty much everything I’ve been trying. But I’m still having an issue. I’m trying to create a stereo setup using my Headrush into a Fender Blues Deluxe and an H&K Tubemeister 36. I set the H&K up 4CM style and then run the Fender off the other side of the effects send. It should be in stereo. Instead I get a teeny tiny like sound out of my H&K and a huge sound out of the Fender. Any advice on what I’m doing wrong?

So for example I Have a blackstar club 40 and a mx5 but I want that preamp of the amp what is my best solution so I can just utilize the mx5 for pedals like delay chorus flanger or a booster od?

If you're using the 4-cable method should the FX Loop pedal be after the distortion pedals and before the modulation effects or does it matter.

Cant you place the FX loop you're using to split the Pre and Power amps in the middle of the chain, turn off amps and cabs and use the Headrush as an FX only rig with tone shaping in front of your real preamp and modulations behind the real power amp?

I was wondering is it possible to use the headrush through the effects loop of a tube for just delays and whatnot, and then put analog pedals like distortions, wah, etc, through the front of the amp? I've looked at other videos where you use 4 cables, but the delays and echos are really distorted due to the amp. Cheers!

I have A/B the board.. Both had a amp and cab engaged on the HR board. A into the front my Marshall tube amp with a 2x12 cab and B thru Headrush 12" cab... the difference is astonishing,,, the Headrush cab is sooooo muddy compared my tube amp ands sounds terrible,

I hooked up my gigboard this way and my master volume on my gigboard isn’t working also the little auxiliary jack input. Would you know why.

Hi Scott. Unless I'm doing something wrong, I think there is an important step you missed in this video. Using the FX loop module it seems as though I have no volume control on the HR at all. The only way I was able to get volume control was to add a volume pedal and assign the effects send to it.

Yeah the reality is these new multi fx boards are just not made for using with amps. Who wants to set up every single patch with an fx loop ? And it never sounds right honestly.
