I healed myself with food, and threw my pain medication out. My doctors would have had me in mobility scooter, overweight on all kinds of medication if I didn't take things into my own hands with strict exersise and food. I walk again and I'm off all meds. I'm healthy again.

I always make sure my meat is good ethical practice as much as possible. Try to buy direct from farm or markets. I still take mushroom therapy. Look into mushrooms like chaga. 👍

My (italian) father in law was 85 when the doctor prescribed him his first pills ever. He was upset and threw them away. He has never taken a pill since then. Now he's 95. He still walks about 5 miles a day, eats only fresh regional fruit and veggies, mostly biological from his own crops, very much extra vergin olive oil, very little meat, much fish from his fishermen friends, a good glass of red wine every day and almost no sugar. He still has got some elder brothers living the same way. 😉❤

That is a nice story and I'm glad your father in law is doing so well, but pills can be absolutely essential to staying alive in a lot of cases. For example, someone I know was born with an irregular heart rythm and absolutely needs her pills to live. The same goes for millions of people who would pass away quickly without insulin.

I decided to read the King James and studied the health laws in the old and new testament and gave up unclean meat and any by products and by doing no other changes at that time, lost 35 lb in about 4 months. My thinking was clearer and felt better and more in control health wise. Remember ultimately God is in control and for believers He has an unlimited amount of everything in His storehouse. He is not limited we limit Him.

@@km376 Sure. I eat all the different vegetables I listed. Most I either microwave just until tender or I Sautee. Every other day I eat 3 eggs, 4 pc bacon.. Thee other days I eat a couple of veg and meat. Meat is so Important for protein. My major meal a day between 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The bacon I eat is from a local meat shop. It is just pure bacon with no additives or smoke. A slice of bacon has about 58 calories but it has enough fat to stop cravings. I use olive oil to cook, and to brush my teeth. One very important thing is getting potassium, magnesium and zinc. Your body needs 4,700mg of potassium a day. I take potassium, magnesium supplements and use electrolyte powders after I work out. I started out using 1.5 lb weights. I am now up to 5 lb weights and 25 reps per exercise. I focus on core and upper body. Exercise to build muscle. When I go to the gym I use the treadmill for about 30 minutes to warm up. One very important lesson I learned is caffeine is not your friend. COFFEE = HIGH CORTISOL = HIGH INSULIN = FAT STORAGE.(for women). It doesn't seem to have that affect on men. I worked very hard to lose weight. When I quit coffee success came. I lost over 30 inches over all. Back fat, arm fat, thigh fat. It just started coming off. I lost 55 lbs. In 120 days. I went from a 2xplus size to a large misses. I take vitamins and supplements from Life Extension Foundation. The have very pure and proven products. I'm at more than 290 days on this journey. For me this is jot a diet! It is a lifestyle change. I have no intention in going back. I feel better than when I was 50.

I put all these daily supplements in a jar on my kitchen cabinet. I just take a few every time I go by the counter. Last check up BP good. A1c good.. I had a CAC test which showed zero arterial sclerosis. I had to demand the CAC test because insurance doesn't pay for it. The cardiologist started out telling me I had a 45% chance of heart disease because I am 75. When I have muscle soreness from working out I take MSM 1,000 mg. Through the weight and resistance Training I have strengthen my core, legs and improved my balance. I have lost 30 inches over all, but still battling belly fat. I have to say the intermittent fasting and the once a month 72 hour fast to autophagy have been very helpful in my journey. Sadly, I did not get this advice from my doctors. I researched and watched videos and researched some more. Life Extension Foundation has been a wealth of research data and very high quality products. I have been using their products since 2015.

@@km376 For a clue, look at the difference in the meat from a grain fed steer or a grass fed steer. The grain fed has large quantities of fat through the flesh, around the organs etc. Check out Dr Eric Berg and his videos on fasting and intermittent fasting and especially the Keto dietary regime, the problem people have with weight is sugar (which is hidden in so many products ) and carbohydrates especially highly processed such as breads. They turn into sugar rapidly and if not burned up by activity immediately are stored as fat. That stored fat will never be burned up as long as there is sugar available even if just stored in the liver

It is wonderful to see two doctors that really care and want to share their knowledge to enable the everyday person to try and look after /heal themselves to the best of their ability. I have spent the last 10 years reading books about cancer as wanted to understand as much as I could about this terrible disease which has carried off a number of people that I cared about . I believe that knowledge is power and can create hope when all seems lost.

My father contracted hep C from blood transfusion and was diagnosed with liver cancer 7 years ago, I asked his liver specialist whether he needs to watch his diet and he said "no , he can eat anything he wants", I was shocked to hear that from a doctor. Knowing broccoli is a cancer-fighting plant, I told my dad to have broccoli sprout smoothie or broccoli soup everyday which he did and so far , his cancer is under control. I wonder what is Dr Li's opinion on vegetable oil ? Thank you Dr Li for sharing and Dr Chatterjee for being a great interviewer. BTW, I just bought Dr Li's book and can't wait to read it.

These podcasts are so interesting and informative. The one thing I've learned over the years is that my body's ability to use whatever food I give it is dependent on how, when, and why. As a person who survived a brutal round of Crohn's disease I'm already at a disadvantage with less bowel surface to work with, but I've been able to eat less than optimal foods with an open mind and in good company. It also happens that when I'm totally shut down, isolated or frantic, the best foods will not stick and actually cause harm. Most of you already know this and not a few scientists too.

I’m on a regular medical consultation in a hospital where I’m very happy with , however no one advised me about nutrition despite my several inquiries. After long research I have done , I decided to start with fasting th do called 8/16 . I eat in a window time of only 8 hours having 2 meals a day with reduced carbohydrate , gluten and lactose free diet intake . I eat plenty of green veggies an berries . After 2 months I lost 11 kg .From 59 kg to 48 kg with a height of 168 cm. I have to be careful no that I don’t lose further weight as I’m now very underweight . But they good thing is the inflammation has drastically subsided. Hence, I believe that fasting has helped me a lot.

Yayee, great job. I love gunpowder green tea. The trick is not to use totally boiling water, but water from a pot that has started to “hiss” and steam a little. it’s nice and smoky and like autumn leaves, bitter but in a good way. i do add stevia. Beets, beet greens, raw ginger, liver and parsley seem to all have an immediate noticeable effect for the good on my whole system, even mood. As a recent caregiver for 2 good old parents riddled with problems, I found it a challenge to sneak healthy food into their suppers but it seemed to help them. But each stint in a hospital or rehab or senior care facility showed me what our world still thinks rational (or cheap?) to offer anyone ailing-corn syrup, white flour, sloppy Joe’s, pizza, tater tots, whipped potatoes, corn starch pudding and tons of sugary koolaid with nice bright dyes added.

Great vid! Listening in I got from this was and some things I like to eat to feel well - eating habits to activate our health defences and maintain DNA: - Whole foods (Veggies, fruit, whole grains) - Intermittent fasting, when it works for you (for cell turnover to make new immune cells and reboot gut microbiome, and slows cellular aging down and your body disposes of unhealthy cells, bad fats, via no.1s and 2s, sweating) - Fatty fish/seafoods - Mushrooms - Add spice to your dishes - (tumeric, Cinnamon, Rosemary) - Drink black/green tea - Earl grey or Matcha tea - Cold brew coffee - mineral waters or add electrolytes to your water (drink when you're thirsty, not to a recommended standard, we are all different sizes peoples or cats ha.) - Cranberries, berries, 1x kiwi fruit, 1x pear a day - Date syrup (sugar altenative) and taste great - Oats for breakfast/smoothies - Avo - Oat/Almond milks - Greek yogurt This diet has help our dad reverse his alzheimer's and diabetes (he doesn't require any meds for that now) (he's 84), he's far along but has plateaued from being non-verbal and not remembering names to being able to speak short sentences in 3 different languages (we're multi-ligual) 3yrs ago, the Specialist said he only had 6 months but that was 3 years ago... 🥝 meow x

@@billdickson1142 Well sure Bill 👍you’re right and completely understand your concern… if you indulge in a high proportion of fructose and carbs than your body ever requires… Especially resonates to your “no,no,no’s!” if: - you have no self-control or awareness of how much food you put into your body. - if you’re the type of person who can’t portion control your meal or regulate yourself… or - understand how intermittent fasting works or - even think to exercise regularly to utilise all that fructose/carbs you’re consuming…. Then agreed, that if all you do is stuff yourself with food and sit on your butt and watch KZfaq all day, year-in-year-out… then it might just lead to those types of health outcomes unfortunately and I share that same passion, worry and urgency Bill. There are a lot of intelligent people here, they found this vid, and I trust are able to work out/research how to moderate, calibrate and plan a diet/lifestyle that works for them and if they’re not confident about it, they seek support i.e see a specialist/dr or dietician. It really doesn’t bother me if people agree/disagree with my notes, I’m just a regular cat, it’s a great space to comment and share your experiences. You don’t have to eat anything I listed here Bill. This was such a great video to watch and made a lot of sense, that I wanted to share notes that I got from it. If you drink sugary beverages or beer, that's a ton of carbs. Try skipping a meal like breakfast each day and don't snack after dinner. Start slow but work your way up to doing a period extended fast of 36, 42 or 48 hours. If you can shrink your eating window between 8 to 6 hours, and do an extended fast once a month, you should start seeing your BP come down. Mine was 150+/90+. Now it's more like 100-110/60-80. I appreciate scholar like Dr. Li explained clearly why inflammation is critical to life (like all the other processes going on in our bodies), and the only problem with inflammation is that when it becomes chronic and poorly regulated. There are so many misguided folks out there making comments on YT saying inflammation is always bad, omega 6 fatty acid is always bad, etc. etc., not realizing that life can’t happen if we don’t have essential fatty acids or certain life processes are missing (due to genetic defects for example).

Some doctors and specialist prescribe medication and the primary doctor doesn't make any changes and I wound up with 13 meds daily. I asked my doctor, should I takes all these meds, he said yes. i checked the meds online and I was taking 4 meds that were beta blockers and one that was an alpha blocker. Check all your meds on line. I now have a saying "the doctor prescribes, I decide".

Lack of evidence? Oh, that was then, this is now. I'm a fan, fan, fan of Isagenix that has gone through the intense botanical research process. Good health, and reverse the aging, address depression, by not taking in way too many free radicals in the body. I'm a senior citizen, and I've eaten mostly organic (before it was a 'thing") for 50 years. I've been off white sugar for seven years now, and what had been diagnosed as Type II is long gone for years now. We truly are what we eat! Thanks for this wonderful discussion!

There is one more component that has a powerful affect on our health. The advice here is fantastic. But many people are stuck with repressed anger which has a profound affect on our whole system. Resolving the emotional issues that continue to dog us through life needs to be resolved. The transference of repressed anger that we carry from our past has a profound affect on our health. Healthy food and a healthy emotional system is the sweet spot in life.
@frostfree7
@frostfree7 2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you. The problem is that anger is considered bad so it is repressed. I've been fortunate to have been involved in alternative therapy processes that allow for full expression of feelings. Underneath anger is pain which when felt can set you free. It is amazing how many ailments spontaneously clear up once repressed pain is fully felt. Unfortunately not the direction the field of psychology has gone, as it stresses coping skills or meds.

As a a mostly carnivore, I can still appreciate the new philosophy on medical research and finding better treatment. I feel better and have better glucose control without carbs and with very few veg. No inflammation and normal blood sugars. Intermittent fasting is also a new routine that is actually hard the first time, and easier with each try!

Absolutely. Intermittent fasting has changed my life. Down 30+ lbs in 3 months. Reduced 9 meds so far to 5. A tight 40” Jean to loose 38. More energy than I’ve had in years. At 70 I’m hiking 4-5 hours routinely, biking the same. Clean eating and intermittent fasting is the solution to almost all of our health woes. And getting the garbage out of the grocery cart has cut my grocery bill by half. I’ve had a triple bypass, 12 stents, 2 enderectomies. Doc is astounded at my resilience but still skeptical when I tell him about my diet change and IF. I’m working on educating him.

Cancers are essentially fast-replicating cells that have gotten out of hand; most of them feed on mainly sugars... A good diet is 70-80% plant, 20-30% animal, with "plant" being mostly vegetables, fruit and tubers often contain too much carbohydrates to be eaten in large quantities all the time. Of course, diet changes should be WITH medical treatments, not instead of them. If cancer has gotten out of hand, it's typically too big for body alone to fight.
