This is my video install of the HealTech GiPro/ATRE G2 "gear indicator" for my TL1000R.
I decide to record the steps I took (which are laid out in the instructions) in order to help others who might be interested in this unit and wanted to see what was involved.
It's a fairly easy device to install but I took extra steps to route the wire cleanly behind the frame so please use discretion when installing your own.
The instructions are easy to follow and I found scrolling through the devices menu very intuitive.
I like that this it comes with a "Timing Retard Eliminator" built in and I took full advantage of it.
You have to first turn it on through the menu by selecting a predetermined value.
For the TL1000R and most other sports bikes the value or number is "6". This makes the ECU think it's in 6th gear all through the gear range and it works a treat offering full power! :)
Secondly, the device has a delay (in milliseconds I think) before displaying what gear you're in. The factory default is set to "4" but I just set it to "0". Who needs a delay?
Lastly, I had to up the brightness. The downside of selecting the "Blue LED" version is that it can get washed out in direct sunlight. The "Red LED" version is supposed to be the best in all lighting conditions so consider this when purchasing one. I just like the blue colour better. :P
The factory setting for brightness is "4" so I cranked it up to full which is "9".
That's really all the setup required. It recognised what gear I was in straight out of the bat! But, if it doesn't there is a "Learn" mode which requires you to ride through the gears. It's fairly easy to program.
If you have a TL1000R I highly recommend this device. It's great to be able to glance down and see what gear you're in.
I purchased mine off eBay here:
www.ebay.com.au/itm/Healtech-...
Hope this video helps you out. :)
Ride Safe! ;)

Nice video, I have a HealTech GI Pro S01. It might be slightly different as it shows a "d" for some seconds when switching on ignition (guess it means "diagnosing"). Also, I routed the power cable to fuse box where I found an empty slot for it. Once when I got back the bike from workshop I noticed that the bike was sluggish as hell, Why? They had disconnected the TRE! Proof that it works...

Fantastic video. I think this is the least invasive gear indicator for this bike considering you need to tap into just one wire for power. I will be getting one for my Srad750 shortly and I think the position you mounted yours in will work for me also. Beautiful bike also, it looks really fresh

Thanks for the video. I am stuck between the GIPRO and the X-TRE Power Box XT-S01. My bike has a gear indicator so the XT-S01 seems to make more sense, but the GIPRO is a slightly easier install and looks like you can deactivate the TRE mode without removing it. The XT-S01 as far as I can tell needs to be physically unplugged to deactivate TRE. Does anyone know if I put the GIPRO on does the in dash gear indicator still work as normal? Any thoughts on what I have written above appreciated.

Installed mine today. Can't get in to menu. Connected the +12v wire to the VCSV +12v (not used anymore) Gear indicator works but I read later in the manual that the +12v wire must be Connected to something that gives power even when the engine stop switch is off. That's not the case with the VCSV (vacuum control solenoid valve)

hows the top speed limiter removal feature?
@onewaywolf3530

I don’t use it because I’m usually going faster than the speed limit anyway. I basically only needed to set the essentials in this video to give the viewer an idea of what’s involved. :)

Can you feel a noticeable difference in the performance of the bike? I'm thinking of purchasing for my M109R.
@onewaywolf3530
@onewaywolf3530 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I can feel the difference when the ATRE is on. There’s slightly more power/quicker acceleration in the lower gears and it feels smoother. If your bike is restricted then I think it’s worth installing one of these units with the added bonus of the ATRE. The gear indicator is great to look as well. :)
@alanburgess7519
@alanburgess7519 6 жыл бұрын
THE LARRIKIN Thanks for the info. I've actually found Heal Tech makes a power unit for the M109R that has the ATRE only. Since my model already has a digital gear indicator I'm going with that. Thanks again.

I’ve rotated my shift arm to GP shifting and usually just clutchless shift so it’s never really bothered me. But if I decide to go down that route I’ll certainly make an install video. ;)
@timothy9596
@timothy9596 5 жыл бұрын
That's exactly how most of my bikes have been set up. GP shifting is so much easier I really can't see myself ever going back to regular again. And once you learn how to clutchless shift, (which isn't hard) there really isn't a need for a quickshifter.

Wim Pie Nice and cheers for the comment! If you have any problem with the TRE let me know. I had an intermittent shutdown of the bike while riding and ended up having to send the unit to Hungary for a firmware update which sorted it out. All good now!

I understand that this video is 3 yrs old but I have a gi pro on a bike that I just bought (used obviously) and have no idea how to work it. After Google, I understand that it messes w the communication to the brain and gives me more torque at the lower end. Because it's an old model, I can't get a user manual for it from the company or any tuning instructions. Thoughts?
@onewaywolf3530
@onewaywolf3530 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I can’t really help with that. If you’ve tried the manufacturer and they can’t provide instruction then you might have to go through some forums and see if anyone is running the same model. Other than that, might be time to sell it and upgrade to the latest model?

@@onewaywolf3530 I'm sorry, I'm mixing 2 diffent chats. I looked up the upgraded version and it's pretty pricey considering that I'm not planning on hitting a race track. I'll try to mess with it in the spring and see if helps or hinders. Great tip on the forums. I hadn't thought of it

I also wondered what way the programmes work, I'm on a gsx1400 and is same as a zx10r, it's NNNNNN, as I'm sure you seen, all different maps for different bikes, I was curious about that.

Rh 4000 You only need to select the number that corresponds to your bikes programming. Number 7 in your case. It’s all just the way factories program their ECU’s.

THE LARRIKIN and the TRE are you notice the different between the TRE ON OR OF BYPASS ?!
@onewaywolf3530
@onewaywolf3530 5 жыл бұрын
John Do Yeah, there’s full power right from 1st gear. So, it’s a little quicker off the start. But, I mainly bought this unit for the gear indicator. The TRE is just a nice bonus. You can tell the difference with it engaged but nothing to write home about. You’ll only be accessing power you already have but straight from 1st gear.

THE LARRIKIN nice nice and are you notice some more fuel consumption wen TRE is activated! ? Nice bike btw
@onewaywolf3530
@onewaywolf3530 5 жыл бұрын
John Do The beauty of this unit is that it’s ATRE or ‘Automatic’ which means it will only activate the TRE under acceleration. When it returns to idle it switches off so unless you’re on the power from the start you won’t see much fuel consumption at all. I’m still getting the same amount of distance out of the tank. Thanks for the kind comment! :)
