I assumed generating a huge amount of data means more business for data warehouse enterprises as the first speaker mentioned @ around 14:00 when he talked about the cost of sequencing his genome & the price of doing this is coming down. I want to ask this question. Does having one's genome sequenced help to enrich, to prolong a more healthier life? I don't think so. How do you deal with infectious diseases (having genome sequence will do you no good/bad)? Typical physician/patient interaction time per visit is 15~20min (if you are lucky). Will the physician spend hours of his limited time going through your whole genome to help him to diagnosis - knowing he/she has X number of patients outside the office waiting in line? Have you heard of any physician that actually use the results/data generated from you smart devices (like watches) for diagnosis? How much out of your own pocket you are willing to pay to get the physicians/care takers to go through these data?
