Darn you delicious Kit Kats! I find that it's harder to portion control sweets when I have had a little bit. It's easier for me to avoid it altogether than it is to have a small amount. I have also found that after having something sweet, I tend to crave it more for a few days afterward.

+thereaderbug lol! I KNOWWW I love kit kats too, and I feel you on the avoiding tactic. When I don't have any at all, I don't crave it. But once I have a little, I can't stop! There's no middle ground for me!

I am seriously applauding you for this video Alyssia. The amount of work and research you put behind this is amazing! It really does help the viewers because there is nothing to argue here or be unsure about. These are the facts, this is how it is, it doesn't need to be debated on some list in some article! Every aspect fell together very well, so thank you for such an informative yet fun video for halloween :) As for which team I'm on, it will be different based on when you ask, probably chocolate, but I love some laffy taffy too aha

I guess we have some "kind of healthy candy" in México, such as mazapán (ground peanuts and sugar paste) or dry fruit with chilli (mango or tamarind)

Mind Over Munch - I was wondering how to figure out macro and micro nutrients to take personally. Is a doctor the best way to find out those numbers? I am really taking how u read labels seriously and want to be more health conscious when selecting items at the store. Thank u for responding! You are inspirational and I love your energy!

Nice video! I started a diet few moths ago and yeah i had to stay away from candy. You're right don't waste your time reading the nutrition facts. Just eat one and move on. I love this video.

Whoa! I looooove Starbursts so much but to see that 8 Starbursts has as much sugar as 12 sugar cubes did shock me! I also eat more than 8 at a time because there are more in a pack. I am definitely going to limit myself on these to very limited quantities and occasions. Thanks for the info!

aww poo... my fav candy bar is Almond Joy and i always liked to tell myself that it was a little bit better since its coconut and almond. also love paydays bc I'm really not a chocolate person. my fav of the sugar candies you showed is DEFINITELY sour patch kids!!!

Oh boy am I totally #teamchocolate, I can eat KitKats like nobody's business... But I'm getting better! Now instead of having a KitKat stash on the coffee table, I fill my bowl with those 72% cacao Ghirardelli squares to get the occasional chocolate fix. Thank you so much for doing this video! The ones like this where you compare the macros on different items are my absolute favorite.

Wow I'm so thankful where I live the package always says calories and sugar per 100g! It must be hell to have to calculate every single time how much calories two different foods actually contain in a serving of the same size

Reeses PB cups are my kyrptonite :( Along with caramel popcorn! Thankfully PB Cups are quite hard to find and very expensive here in Ireland so they remain a special treat :)

+Mind Over Munch well since the food served during the holidays is homemade, there aren't any labels to look at. So maybe how to chose a healthy options out of certain holiday staples (like the food served at Thanksgiving and Christmas). :)

Thank you so much for doing this. You took about 2 hours when the rest of us would have spent 5 hours and we would have totally misinterpreted it. So informative! Unfortunately, I go for both fats and sugars. The weird thing is for the last 10+ years, milk chocolate has made me break out in pimples within about 5 hours of eating it. Face, scalp, chest, shoulders and back. One time I really over indulged and I even broke out down to my legs. So, I mostly gave up milk chocolate and only every once in a long while would have dark chocolate. Well, the weird thing is, I just got candy corns the other day, but they out of the regular, so I got the Indian corn. It looks like the regular except the yellow section is brown. After a few handfuls, I started breaking out. I was afraid that I was having the same reason to sugar as I do with chocolate, but I looked at the ingredients and the brown section has cocoa powder in it. 😩 It breaks my heart!!! ...

...One the good side, since I don't have it much, it really doesn't taste as good to me anymore. Don't get me wrong, I still have it a few times a year, but it's not as enjoyable and I don't feel good afterwords. Not only do I break out, but sometime I feel like I my skin smells weird to me. My face especially. Like it's in the oil of my skin and the sugar/chocolate is coming out that way for a day or two. Am I nuts or have you heard anything like that before. Sorry for the length of this. Anyway, thank you again. Have a GREAT day!!!!!

+gippywhite So glad you found it useful! I actually ended up spending more time doing the graphs and everything else for the episode lol! I love these types of videos but they are very time consuming. Still, if it teaches people, it's worth it to me :) It seems you've really learned what your body needs and doesn't need! This is absolutely a great way to find what is the right "fuel" for you, and what isn't. I know there may be disappointments along the way, but sticking to these and being aware of how your body responds is so invaluable! Many can learn from you :) Cheers, and Happy Halloween!

TeamSugar My downfall is Laffy Taffy and Twizzlers except at Halloween I'm all about the candy corn fall mix. I like to pick out all the pumpkins and eat them first.

I'm definitely team chocolate, even as a child I didn't consider anything that didn't have chocolate in it to be candy or worthy of eating, having said that my candy taste or somewhat different than that of my peers as I would only accept candy from places like Sees or World Market , it had to be fairly exotic or high price to suit me. I would be very interested to see a video on you comparing candy items from a health food type market because I know there a lot of companies now that market to people who will only eat certain types of food as far as sugar free or gluten free or Whole Foods type of stuff

team chocolate! only because I try really hard to avoid artificial colors as ingredients - especially red dye 40 in all honestly, i prefer salt so I like the mini bags of chips!.
