Uhuh! Cry for him! And for her man!that's exactly what happened! Her man couldn't give a kid and she didn't want to leave him. So she picked up this guy and had a one night syand with him so she could get pregnant and play it off like it wss her man's. Soooooo....the one who loves her now thinks it's his kid and the real fsther can't have anything to do with his own kid. Yup. Inba nutshell.
@bliffblam3 жыл бұрын
@@lovefortruth3414 your speculating. I'm sure her husband was aware he couldn't have kids. Ppl do this all the time in a doctor's office at 20k each try, no guarantees. She took the natural route no ties and the cost of a motel room. And if u pay attention it wasnt her first time. "So we found this motel, it was a place i knew well" Anyways, she sings the shit out of this song. Which is ironic because she (ann) doesn't l I'll ke it and stopped performing it
@lovefortruth34143 жыл бұрын
@@bliffblam i'm not speculating anymore than you are. It also happens alot that men raise a child for years thinking it's their child before they find out that their wife did exactly what the character in this song did. It's disgusting to deceive anyone involved in helping you produce a child. Not to mention, she deprived the actual father of his biological son through deceipt with a note afterwards telling him not to find her. Do you think she gave the biological father a chance to consent or to object to being excluded from this child's life that he helped create? On the other hand, too, he was an adult and should know better to make sure they used protection or to just not get involved in a one night stand in the first place because of the potential reprocussions. They both are responsible for that part. But she was a sleaze for keeping him from having any say in his exclusion or inclusion in his now child's life. And if she kept this from her husband, then she deceived 2 men. Either way, she deceived at least one of them. That's not the same as artificial incemination in a dr's office. Men actually willingly and knowingly donate sperm for this for money. So the actual biological father is aware that he will never know his biological child that may result from it. Going out and having a one night stand with a stranger and then leaving him a note warning him not to try to find her is leaving him no choice in his involvement with the child. It's fucked up and spits in the face of mutual consent.

True. I saw them in concert and wondered why they didn't do this song then I did some digging and found out the true story behind it. Ann said she hated the whole album actually, because it was not the music they wanted to do, but something they were forced to put out just to be a hit. But it cut like a knife to my heart to hear they hated it because I grew up with the Brigade album and Ann and Nancy's vocals made me imagine growing up to be a strong tough woman. They were inspiring to me and the album holds fond memories of my childhood.

They performed it live their entire tours from 1990 - 1993 and retired it after that. Ann has sang it a few times since, but with changed lyrics. The article says that this is the story of a woman who sets to seduce a hitchhiker to become pregnant because the man in her life was infertile.
