Heart And Hips Practice - 26 min Hands Free Yoga Practice. This session invites you to find release and surrender to a FLOW state. Tend to tight shoulders and hips. Pay attention to how they are connected to your mental and emotional state.
Gain flexibility and stability on the mat so you can cultivate the same off the mat. Grab a small towel, necktie, pillowcase or yoga strap (if you have it) for this session and let's Find What Feels Good.

It felt so awesome, the first time ever I used a yoga prop. I spend most of time infront of a computer at work and home. So my shoulders tend to curl inwards, but this was great way to correct my posture. I will try to incorporate this off the mat. Taking megs to the side was little challenging while trying to keep the other hip on the mat but I know it will come with time.Thank you Adriene!

I woke up 2 hours before my alarm today, filled with negative thoughts. I battle chronic depression, and this morning was bad. Very bad. I snuck out of bed and quietly did this practice (so as not to wake my parter). It's still half an hour before the alarm, but I do feel a bit better. So many things have been taken away from me in this life, and it is very hard not to let that suck me into the quicksand. Yoga reminds me to take care of what I DO have, and that's me. I have me.

Exactly…. 10 seconds in the video and tears were running down my face as I noticed I woke up hypervigilant, anxious and full of rage. Already feeling better now after this practice. Movement is so essential for trauma survivors yet our bodies are traumatised too so it can be hard/exhausting to even start. ❤ I am proud of you for caring for yourself

Repeating myself, but I’m a 62 year old somewhat overweight still. I have followed your yoga routine through “Home” and now your calendar recommendations, plus a few extra stretches if the calendar routine is short. I have participated for 46 days straight without a miss; my longest streak ever. I have begun to really notice the reduction in hip and back pain, plus a significant improvement in flexibility and movement. I find myself squatting to pick up something, pet my dogs, etc rather than bending. My arm and leg strength are noticeably improved. I think I’m almost hooked, where I can’t envision missing a morning session even when traveling. Thank you so much for being so engaging, entertaining, likable and authentic. You really are an extraordinary person and I am sincerely happy for your success. I hope your life is truly as balanced and happy as you project on KZfaq.

Greg Todd same here! I am a 45 years old woman with overweight and several back/feet problems and I am following Adriene‘s videos since March due to lockdown. I have not missed one day since and I am surprised at the changes in such a short time, specially in flexibility and agility, and the strength my arms and legs show. I appreciate how my body is responding to the practices that Adriene proposes. 🙏🤗❤️

What a beautiful message! Congratulations on sticking with this for so many uninterrupted days! I started mid summer of ‘20 trying to unthaw a frozen shoulder. I don’t manage every day (in awe of you) but at least 5days a week. Not that I’m doing this, I can’t imagine NOT doing YWA. I love the changes I see in my mobility, and like you, I love her vibe. 🥰

My husband was practicing with me and instead of a dish towel he used his own sock. You can imagine his reaction when Adriene suggested covering your eyes 😄

2 minutes into practice and a Nymphalidae butterfly flew into my balcony. She calmly settled down on my palm and refused to fly right away. So I offered hew kiwifruit and mandarin as treats, which she gladly accepted. We spent beautiful 15 minutes together. Just wanted to share this small magic moment with you and thank Adriene for this beautiful practice. Namaste!

Dear, sweet Adriene, It was three years ago that I first googled "yoga for complete beginners" and found you. Your 23 minute Yoga for Complete Beginners started it all for me and since then rarely has a day gone by that I do not practice with you. I am a former ballet dancer whose body at 51 is riddled with scar tissue from old war wounds (left hammy, Imma looking at you!) and the reality is I will probably never get my knees anywhere close to straight in Forward Fold but as you say so frequently, "Who cares?" It is this non judgemental attitude that has caused me to recommend you far and wide. And everyone I send your way comes back to me with a big thank you. You rock.

I’m also a 51 year old ex dancer, with RA & OA. Adriene’s yoga is such a blessing for a body & mind that still needs to be stretched & cared for in a way no other exercise has fufilled since my diagnosis 5 years ago. I love that she reminds us to do what we are able, be kind to ourselves, & offer lots of options to modify the poses. My brain is still in my 19 year old mindset, wanting to push my body they way I used to, but I’m learning to give my self permission just be where I am.

I've been utilizing Yoga with Adriene, off and on, since April of 2016. It has really changed the balance of this overweight, formerly sedentary diabetic body. I will keep at it and I know I will continue to see more improvement.

Must be the fifty-one club. My hips have been screaming at me after too much sitting (covid house arrest) distraction with knitting, food, and TV....getting back to rights with Adrienne. So glad for all the resorces she makes available. 😁💕🤟✨💞💗💗

Wow, this one showed me today that despite my sense that the hamstrings and hips seem not to have improved, they actually have. So happy for that! Blossom day 16. 500 days in a row with Adriene! Bloom day 20 (on the 21st). 959 days.

I don't know why, but I need to come back to this particular practice regularly, because sometimes only after this one I feel like myself again and I feel like I can breathe and feel grounded and present. Really needed this practice today, yesterday I was carrying fairly heavy shopping home. It made my shoulders sore, and that has carried over to this morning. But after your wonderful yoga practice, my shoulders feel light, and soft, and no longer sore. Thank you so much Adriene for your brilliant yoga practices, I would be totally lost without you. Exhale 2024 day 8 I really felt this practice not only in my hips but in my abs. It was fun to actually get to use my yoga strap that has been sitting in the chest in my Zen Den where I store my yoga supplies. 😊

Blessed Beloved Beauties! Bloom Day - 20 was a great pleasure to revisit. It was 1 year ago since this practice. It was ideal for PMS symptoms. I feel refreshed and to think I almost didn't make it to the mat. I arrived at 11:58 P.M. yesterday, so technically, I made it before the next day. For today’s practice my arthritis was shouting at me , but I followed through this sequence purposefully and carefully. I love that you give options for all levels, so I just met my edge with each move. Feeling your love and connection at the end Adriene. @@gillsmith6740 Changing meds is the most frustrating and emotionally draining process. I will also send you strength and hope that you get the right one soon. I hope that you give yourself a lot of grace right now and allow yourself to just let go of things that are super necessary so you can focus on getting comfortable. A.k.a. no cleaning. You are still checking in every day! I consider that still sticking with your yoga practice. I know that you are very conscious of what your body can or can’t do so remember to focus on the can. You messaged me back today and honestly doing that while in pain can sometimes be a feat in itself. Remember that just even taking deep breath‘s relaxing your shoulders and job and listening to Adriene‘s sweet voice does a lot of good. Your mantra for this week can be “a little goes a long way “. This is what you tell me and I’m able to tell this to you back because this is what you taught me. I know that you will get the right medicine and you will be back to doing your usual challenging yoga practice. For now you can join me in the sloth tree 🦥🦥

I'm sure how it's all connected, the tight hips and shoulders to your mental and emotional state, however I do believe that things happen in your body for a reason. My emotional state is not one of joy and happiness at the moment. Tears are welling up to the surface and a position of helplessness is felt deep inside. I had moments of distraction throughout the practice and I'm grateful for that, I must now figure out how to shift the heavy heart that plagues my mental and emotional status. Love to all x

Thank you Adriene! I chose this practice because I have tight hamstrings from being on my feet all day and everyday staying active at 53 yrs. I love that it is low to the ground so that I can concentrate on being in the moment sitting and laying on the mat with the band. Hamstrings need a lot of lovin! From Australia to yours in Texas. 💜🙏😊

Whenever I think of yoga, I think of an intense, heart rate up, sweaty kind of practice. But practices like these teach me that you can’t do that and don’t have to do that on all days. I think of yoga also as a gentler way of strengthening the body than strength training work outs but this practice made me think about how each practice does not have to build or create something. Sometimes it restorative. And there’s value in that. Thank you Adrienne. ❤

This practice was slow, purposeful and low to the ground, no vinyasa flows today. I used my little microfibre cloth for this sequence, perfect. I realise how inflexible I am, it’s an age thing, but it was all good. I practice every day with you Adriene and I started yoga late in life, but I’ve learned so much from you, you’ve got my back 😊 and I love you sooo much too, from our hearts to yours 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🙏💕

It’s so hard to see your own flexibility during this lockdown time because it’s mostly inner flexibility and I see that in you every day. ♥️ I am listening to a book about being flexible right now so I’m sort of an expert 😉. This was my first yoga practice after a while. I'm in deep grief at the moment over the loss of my family after making the hard but necessary decision to cut them out of my life completely. On top of that I'm battling the ridiculous heat in my apartment (no fan, no AC), so it is safe to say that I was feeling far from my best when I stumbled over this video in my feed and decided to pick up yoga again. Now I'm sweating like crazy, but I feel a bit more calm and a lot less empty, so thank you again, Adriene, for gifting us such a valuable yoga session❤

Participating in Bridge and after the past week of deep freeze here in TX, this felt so good to do some deep hip stretching and opening. It was a perfect “thaw” for the body as Mother Nature is thawing out our state. Thank you, as always, Adriene. 🙏🏻💛

I've been locked at home sick with covid for the last couple of days. Even though I only have rather mild symptoms, I still didn't do any yoga in the last couple of days. I decided I finally had to get back on the mat again and this practice was harder than it looked but also incredibly relaxing. Thank you, Adriene, for helping me give my racing mind a break for a few precious minutes.

You all deserve props for being here, whether it’s for the the 50th (Breath to Bridge) day or the first. I didn’t hit my mat until after nap time today and this practice was perfect for easing me out of my dream state. Have a beautiful day! Felt really achey in the right hip and legs this morning after a split shift and 16,000 steps yesterday and did not want to anything resembling exercise this morning but I knew I had to do something for my hips. This was tough but boy, did I feel good when I settled into the butterfly at the end. Listened to my body, felt the blood flow and feeling relieved somehow. Thank you Adriene.

On 2022.02.16 after all the new year, lockdown, CNY holidays then regular every month ladies day, i am finally had my second yoga practice during all this time! I know i have no better reason to do not do it more often but I am going to do my best to pick it up the regulars from here!

Here for Bridge 2021- Day 20 and omg! Woke up & arrived on my mat feeling stiff , tight in my neck, shoulders & hips! 26 minutes later, leaving the mat feeling open in the chest, shoulders & hips.stiff tight neck gone and defiantly feeling taller. A yummy practice which is pure magic for my body, thank you. Namaste 😊💕🙏🏻 Xx

I just want to say thank you. I started doing Yoga with Adriene in January and have rarely missed a day. I am grateful to you and the work you put into these videos. The impact it has had on my life has been unexpected and wonderful. I’m taller, have a great new job, eating better, have less pain in my shoulder and knees. Is it all due to yoga? Maybe not, but things are going great and they are only getting better. - I sing this slightly off key in your honor. Best wishes

Matt Earls I think it's all down to yoga, reason I believe this is I was diagnosed with a chronic pain condition that's apparently incurable and only medication can help me. I started yoga the week after my diagnosis I began to eat better, did my reiki 1st and 2nd degree, grew an inch and I'm completely pain free, grounded happier and balanced so I've recommended yoga to people and the difference to their lives and health has been unbelievable too. I do need to practise every day though or I'll get stiff and a bit scatter brain so I genuinely believe yoga changes lives. Well done on all your achievements as the yoga gives a chance then it's up to you and sounds like its helped be a great stepping stone to improve your life. Always happy to hear people are doing great with yoga especially adriene... She's amazing! Namaste and best wishes from Glasgow! 🙇

Matt Earls yep definitely. Pure cherry juice is great too but it was almost wheelchair time for me and I was 29 before I started yoga, I'm almost one year pain free thanks to my yoga with adriene. I think with the right thoughts and working with yoga is magic for most things. We've been doing it for probably thousands of years so I think it's the key to a healthy mind body and spirit. Namaste

Since I've been practicing with you, Adriene, and I'm a newbie yogie, I am able to turn and look behind me so well when changing lanes in my truck or on my motorcycle! Also, I used to be so tight in the hips, I'd have a catch in my hip when walking my "Benji", ..."Sara", but none of that anymore either! Thank you! I do this everyday now, and practice a foundation video almost everyday.

Dear Adriene, I have "done" yoga on and off for the last 30 years, but never had a daily practice. I started your 30 day yoga journey the end of Jan 2020 and have practiced with you almost every day since. I moved from the 30 day program into your YWA calendar and have absolutely LOVED every practice!! Before, I had never quite gotten the concept of taking what I learned/experienced each day on the mat into the rest of my day. A very significant switch for me! I find myself being slower to react, more contemplative and more calm. Your gentle encouragement has helped me let go of my perfectionistic judgements of my "progress" and is leaving me with so much more of a whole feeling about my body and I realize it is capable of so much more than I had ever imagined! My pain levels in different parts of my body have decreased so much with my increased flexibility and strength! I so look forward each and every day to feel what each practice you post will bring! Words can not describe how thankful I am :) :) :) Namaste

Day 28 CREATE! I skipped ahead one day to do this yummy practice. I needed it. A day after I found out a friend has COVID-19, my dad was admitted to hospital with serious health issues. Frankly, I was feeling upset. Although we are passing this virus storm well here in Korea, the knowledge that I am essentially isolated and can not even be there for my dad, even plan to be there, is upsetting. But I feel so much better after this practice and am glad I jumped ahead. These heart opening ones are truly among the best, no matter the teacher. But Adriene has a way to bring us along in progress and in a succinct manner. I truly appreciate this. 💙

These yoga sessions are so wonderful centring and calming. I usually stop what I'm doing which is working in my studio or in the garden or other physical activity and take this time before I start preparing dinner. It helps stretch my body where I need it but most of all sets me up for a quieter evening mind. I have been doing the YWA sessions for a few years now, since the beginning of Covid and look forward to them every day. Like my meditation practice in the morning. The sessions are not long so there is little excuse not to do them. Adrienne you are awesome!! Thank you!

just had heart surgery 2 weeks ago and got the all clear yesterday. Started with this today and I was shaking in that PTSD way but found I could relax. I'm almost weeping about the release. I love you so much too Adriene. Thank you for your gifts.

Doing this in the february series 2021. Omg. I have done this before, I don't remember how exactly I felt back then but surely it must have been great. I had soreness in my legs for so long... And this was great. I didn't know when the video ended and it felt so quick even though it was almost a 30 min yoga. Thank you Adriene. Great for post workout stretch.

As a student in computer engineering and a martial artist I can't put words on how valuable this is for me. The movement themselves are so helpful in disolving the pain from previous training sessions at the dojo. And the relaxation aspect is so very valuable in my studies, as well as to generate the sense of motivation from within to keep going at it. A complete life-changer. The kingdom of Sweden very much loves you as well as your yoga practice. Absolute gold.

Adriene, I just want to say thank you for saying, "I love you," at the end of this video. It is nice to hear. Also, (for anyone who might read these comments), you are right about it being o.k. if one's stretch may not be as exaggerated as yours. I've been a ballerina my entire life, and I can say with total certainty, that the best thing one can do is to not force a stretch. I have been stretching my entire life, and I find I get the best stretch, sensation, and long-term results when I focus on the foundational micro-stretching. Thanks! Love you back.
