YetAnotherKZfaqr It's only higher base stats if the jade golem summoned by jade spirit is 1/1 or 2/2, so afterwards the stats are better for the jade spirit, and this deck has a golem count of 8, meaning the spirits are generally both better value and tempo than chain gang. Yes they lack taunt, but this is generally a more aggresive deck anyway, so the lack of taunt on the 4 drop isn't that bad. Against pure aggro decks like aggro paladin and face hunter you are indeed on the defensive, and then chain gang would be better, but you still have some other tools to help with that like maelstrom, hex, jade lighting, jade claws and evolutions into taunts.

Besides, you need your minions alive anyway, the taunt would be doing the exact opposite of what you would want.

You tend to only need Taunts in certain circumstances with a Deck like this. With the Hero power having a chance to generate a stalling taunt, the two Thing From Belows, uuuusually is enough. Not to mention there's such a good chance of getting a Taunt from the Evolves, Unstable Evolutions and Deathseer Thrall. Shoot, I had a wonderful Evolve of getting Voidlord AND Grizzled Guardian. And as mentioned, you def want to keep your minions as alive as long as possible, taunts just dropped like Chain Gang tend to be removed quickly. Plus, keeping the Jade Synergy allows you to have ways to cushion your board when things go awry.

I play a Savjz version of this deck with some success but I don't have Patches so put in extra firefly, extra Devolve and Grumble legendary. Fun for pulling evolved minions back for their battlecries.
