See, I love Ben Brode, but that "we make cards for fun" aspect is bullshit. They have the stats. They have cummunity managers, they say they read and listen. Then why do they not give priest a good card and save the "fun card" for later, or a class that is already constructed for winning exclusively? Look, when my car is broken and it doesn't run because the engine is dead, I do not need a fancy exhaust pipe or heated seats or a twin-clutch gearbox! I need a fucking engine, or the car is dead, still. Why would we need a fancy card for a class that nobody plays, because the class is just too defensive in an casual, aggressive and fast game. You can't win a race when all the other cars have 550hp and priest sits in an 50hp wagon with some amazing 10.000$ brakes. _Sorry for all the car references, but I thought they are the easiest metaphors to understand._

Reverse the rarities of Purify and Onyx Bishop. It'll have zero effect on Constructed, but give Priests a badly needed buff in Arena. Then make Purify a 0 or 1 cost OR allow it to target enemy minions.

Mine, yours and Noxious's video was right next to each other on r/hearthstone front page yesterday and then seeing Ben Brode respond just felt so good!

I like Brode's honesty with "we make cards that inspire and make people think rather than just be super amazing; this is what we planned with Purify." And I think the game should have that, even in the sense of the teaching experiment of "wait, Silence is 0 mana and Novice Engineer is just a 1/1 that draws a card. But Silence is so much stronger than a 1/1 card, how is Purify bad?" and then the people realize that Silencing their own stuff isn't that useful and they learn. The problem is that like 1/4 of Priests cards are in that category of "cool, interesting, inspiring" rather than actually being useful. Shadowbomber (aggro antithetical to Priests), Mind Vision, Divine Spirit + Inner Fire Combo, Resurrect, Purify, Convert, Confuse, Mind Games, Shadowfiend, just so many cards that get my inner Timmy going "wow, think of what you could do in this situation!" but just end up being terrible. That isn't even counting the cards that end up just not being good or bad, only the cards that seem more like the ability to create a Trolden-like moment 1 in 20 games.

to make purify awesome: make the text "return a minion to it's natural state. Draw a card." It's natural state being the state it enters the board: A minibot that loses divine shield gets it back, a 9/7 minion that received 6 damaged is healed back to 7 health, a silenced minion is "de-silenced" or if it received a buff, de-buff it.

Here's an idea, make Purify a Shatter-like card, or simply silencing a minion twice destroys it. It's still a two-card play and some Brann synergies exist. Like Purify is a 2-mana "Destroy a silenced minion".

Impossible challenge: Keep your finger in Kripp's nose for 3 seconds

Honestly, I'm glad that purify is in the game. I'm glad that it exists, just simply that. Because self-silence decks are kinda fun, not viable in standard b/c 50-75% of the deck rotated out with Naxx, but it's fun in wild. And purify makes that deck miles more consistent with having more silence cards, and helping turbo thru the deck faster with card draw. HOWEVER, this is a card that should have released in a big, actual card set with like 200+ cards. NOT one of the only 3 cards you get in an adventure. This was a time to get bombs. This was a time to get huge leaps forward in Priest quality. And this f*cked that over. So....yeahh, like the card, wrong time to release it.

Purify could easily be a really intresting card, in my opinion, if it wasn't turned into a silence for convenience of programming. If the effect were instead to "restore a minion back to it's original state" that would make it a unique card, which could be compared to reincarnate, while not killing and resummoning the minion. Thus it would not trigger a deathrattle or summon effect, but would be able to attack (although it will not reset the attack or make a minion that has just been summoned attack) after being purified. Silencing something is an ailment, while to purify is to return it to it's pure form. This way it could even counter silences and debuffs, although it will remove buffs and reinstall abilities you don't want in the process. Sure, the combo with "cannot attack" minions won't work anymore, but priests have enough alternatives.

Don't worry I'm here to the rescue! Purify: 2 mana discard your deck,discard your hand, destroy all your minions, concede, reconsider your whole life then purify your collection by dusting all priest cards. Fixed!

About Blizzard adjusting theirs mistakes - it happend before in heroes of the storm. Devs listen to players very often. Once they invited few members of hots community to the studio to ask for opinion about future things they want to implement to the game. I think that was the first time Blizzard have done such thing and I think it's very 'good first step in this direction.

How to make purify better: "Silence all minions in your hand, draw a card" Synergy with blademaster, statue, watcher and more instantly in one turn. Downside is you don't wanna use it with deathrattle minions in your hand.

I always felt like Purify would have been more of a Warlock card then a priest.

considering how silence priest is doing pretty well now it really puts into perspective what makes a card good, sometimes even if the stats are bad the sinergy can save a card, in the end blizzard didnt have to remove the card, they just had to make better "silence me" cards. (its still a good thing they disabled it in arena though)

What if they made purify remove only negative effects such as: Can't Atk, -X , or corruption, etc... and made priest spells later on that gave a negative and positive effect like -2 atk +4 hp so when you purify it is just a +4 hp buff I mean if they changed a few things and worded it like such it could spawn a deck that is gimmicky in nature but wouldn't be useless and might be something fairly enjoyable and viable.

So they keep broken cards in the meta, nerf cards that were *necessary* to balance out the met, but when they *ABSOLUTELY NEED* to buff a card; they temporarily stop if from being in arena and nothing else?

A easy way to fix purify was to make it a portal card. Silences a friendly minion an summons a three mana minion. Some times you would get the equivalent of a toten golem with no overload and people could try to develop fun priest silence decks that actually win more than one game out of twenty.

Laughed my ass off on the purifiy when i first saw it in my recommended videos.
