Hello Santosh.....here is your answer of your question.. Two reasons for closing the discharge valve and opening the suction valve when starting a pump are: Preventing Overload: Closing the discharge valve and opening the suction valve helps to prevent the pump from experiencing excessive pressure and overload during startup. By initially allowing the pump to draw in liquid without immediately pushing it against a closed discharge valve, it reduces the risk of damage to the pump and associated piping. Priming the Pump: Opening the suction valve allows the pump to prime effectively by filling the pump casing and suction line with liquid before starting. This ensures that the pump has a continuous flow of liquid to begin pumping without encountering air pockets or dry running, which can damage the pump and decrease efficiency.
