Great video, I was totally sold on a Veissman 100 as the modulation ratio is impressive and Wochester don’t market their ratio anywhere, so I had no idea it could modulate down to 3KW. I currently have a Baxi Platinum which has a manual adjustment down to 10KW which is way too much for my house.

@@Gary-Seven-and-Isis-in-1968 of course it will….on milder days you can keep a 4 bedroom house at 21degrees with 3kw. It’ll take more to get it to 21 but once there all you need is to replace the heat lost. At -2 outside my house needs about 7kw to maintain 21degrees.

Just had ours installed. Why is it so loud? Not only the general sound of the boiler, but also the noise of water flowing through the pipes? One of the selling points of this boiler is that its meant to be quite. How is it that boilers 15 years ago made less noise? The old baxi we had would switch off immediately after turning off the tap. This takes about a minute. Having just spend thousands of pounds, i'm not sure what to do.

Question for heatable, Allan or any experts. I had this boiler installed last April from British Gas and nothing but problems. The PCB board had to be changed after six months but the major issue that can’t be fixed is the flue leaks from the outside. British Gas state this is normal for a condensing boiler but my old boiler was condensing but never leaked. Worcester state it shouldn’t leak and not been very impressed with their follow up as they sent an engineer that stated there’s a fault but there’s not but he can’t find the fault. Should the flue leak?

Hi heatable no it’s got worse as British Gas are now insisting a plume kit be fitted. Worcester we’re going to send a senior technician but based on the advice of a plume kit from British Gas have confirmed a plume kit is the only way forward. I’ve asked Worcester directly should the flue leak and they will not answer the question. Really bad from both

What I would like to know and I have asked the same question even Worcester no replies yet the wifi easy control that comes with a table mount and a wall mount the table mount is pre wired to the 13amp plug and the wall mount comes with a 13 amp plug but the wall bracket needs to be connected, the question is does the wall mount have to be wired to the plug or to the boiler. Withe the RF wifi key . If it as to be wired to the boiler how does the table mount work .
@Heatable
@Heatable 7 ай бұрын
Hey, the Bosch Easy Control thermostat requires a direct hard-wire connection to the boiler when it's mounted on the wall. However, if you're using the Easy Control on its stand, it doesn't need to be hard-wired. This is because the stand includes a specially designed transformer built into the plug, allowing you to simply plug it into a standard electrical outlet for power.

@9:06 you say the 4000 will fit on the "I junior jig" the 4000 will not, as the I junior has 2 small hooks at the top the 4000 has one central hook, its the screw fixing footprint that is the same. (but you get the jig with the boiler). 14:55 the gauge in the boiler is NOT for the customer, as will break the combustion seal. (could not see the easy control as an option on your website?). you can install the PRV pipe via the new jig before hanging the boiler - I have never had any issues. good video tho very informative :)

It feels very much like Worcester Botch watched one of Allen's old videos then decided to copy the layout of a old Baxi boiler with everything in the correct place to gain easy service access. I hope that the Worcester Botch training and product course didn't lobotomize Allen and now he praises the hell out of Worcester Botch's products. I would never choose another Worcester Botch product on principle alone. As a victim of previous sales hype and my terrible experience of having one of their combi boilers, I would never pay good money again to that company.

7:30 I'm still not convinced about range rating: why would I care about setting the max output if it's automatically going to modulate down anyway as soon as it detects the flow temperature rocketing up? For that matter, I'm not sure why cycling is bad. 6kW at a 50% duty cycle is surely identical to 3kW.
@Heatable
@Heatable 9 ай бұрын
Hey Rob, thanks for your comment. Range rating sets the upper limit for your boiler, ensuring it doesn't operate beyond what's needed for your home, which can improve efficiency and reduce wear. While modulation adjusts the boiler's output within that set range based on real-time demand, range rating ensures the boiler's top-end is appropriate for the property. Regarding cycling, frequent on-and-off actions can wear out components faster and can be less efficient than steady operation. While 6kW at 50% duty does provide the same average output as 3kW, the continuous operation at 3kW offers more consistent heating and can be more efficient.
@RobFisherUK
@RobFisherUK 9 ай бұрын
@@Heatable Many thanks. It sounds like what we're doing with the range rating/max output setting is giving the boiler a clue as to what is likely to be needed so it doesn't start out full blast unnecessarily. As a computer programmer I can imagine automating this by giving the boiler a memory and having it learn how the CH water temperature responds and remembering for next time. But that's because I like to over-complicate things!

Can someone please advise. Ive just had thos boiler installed the 30kw and the engineer did no range rating. Ive had a play myself and can see where i need to go to do it. I got a question - the way i see it range rating limits how fast/hard the boiler works to get the CH up go temp. So being lower it will get to the desired temp but at a slower pace. Am i roght in thinking this? If so its saying on electric rather than gas? Can someone please tell me a rough guild on what percentage you would range rate for a semi detached 3 bed with living room, kitchen & conservatory (9 double rads in total) In this day and age i want to get the best out of my boiler and saving on the bills. Another thing i was thinking if you could range rate it to the lowest and turn the CH temperature up high does this kind of counter balance it? Im probably looking at it wrong but i just want to know, understand and get the best out of it. The CH is currently set at 60% and 60°c, rads are not boiling hot to touch but are okay for now, but come the colder weather do i turn up both range rating and temp. Sorry for the questions Thanks
@Heatable
@Heatable 8 ай бұрын
Hi Christopher, range-rating your 30kW boiler means adjusting its maximum output to suit your home's specific heating demands, which can result in energy savings by preventing the production of excess heat. A lower setting will cause the boiler to heat up more slowly, and while it does affect gas consumption, it won't save on electricity unless you're dealing with an electric boiler or an integral electric pump. For your semi-detached 3-bedroom house with a living room, kitchen, conservatory, and 9 double radiators, a rough initial estimate for range rating could be based on the guideline of approximately 1.5kW per radiator, which would mean a starting point around 13.5kW or 45% of your boiler's capacity. However, the ideal percentage for range rating is really determined by the house's specific heat loss, which can only be accurately gauged with a professional assessment considering factors like insulation quality, window types, and radiator sizes. The current setting of 60% range rating and 60°C temperature might be fine for the current weather, but as temperatures drop, you'll likely need to increase both the range rating and the boiler temperature to maintain comfort. It's not very efficient to just turn up the CH temperature with a lower range rating; instead, it's better to find the right balance between range rating and flow temperature. The boiler should operate at the lowest possible temperature while still providing comfort, which not only saves energy but also maintains the efficiency of your condensing boiler. When adjusting your boiler, observe how well your home maintains heat at the lowest setting that is still comfortable. Incrementally increase the range rating if necessary during colder weather. Also, make sure to keep the return temperature substantially lower than the flow temperature to confirm the boiler is running efficiently.
