@@hazzerboyes97in the bundesliga yeah, the 2nd worst, if not the worst league of the top 5. The difference between most of the top 10 midfielders and Jude is that they've let their presence known internationally on the biggest stage, in the UCL or WC. Jude did have a good WC, but he mostly stood out because he is a young talent and because he's english. You could even argue that Musiala and Pedri are currently better than him based on how they contributed to their team's succes and their achievements. Jude's biggest achievement is his move to Real Madrid, but that doesn't make him a top 10 player yet.

If you watch Bellingham on a consistent basis, you can tell he’s not a finished package yet. A lot of the times he’s caught in two minds (partially because at Dortmund he has to cover a lot of roles). He has amazing games, but like Dortmund themselves really struggles in moments that he should excel in. It might be down to age and the pressure that comes at Dortmund when it comes to their reputation as bottlers.

Because Tom got flustered when they asked what Jude can’t do, here is what he can’t do: - he doesn’t understand how to operate in small spaces when under pressure, he often gets into tough situations because his touch lets him down when he is pressed and gets bailed out because he is good in duels. Love the explanation, thank you! I have to be honest, he was an average performer against France at the world Cup. Tchouameni and Rabiot dominated him. He's too much of a rock and roll number 8 midfielder for me right now. He certainly doesn't have the acumen or astute nature to play as a 6 or deeper CM

They're just exposing their lack of watching the games. Bellinghams biggest test at the club level last year was against Chelsea and he was terrible both legs. Enzo completely dogwalked him in the midfield, enzo is crazy underrated while Bellingham is way overrated

Kroos over Bellingham, but Bellingham is clear of Verratti, especially based on last season. Rice deserves a mention but not a spot and Pedri is easily one of the best midfielders in the world. Bernardo Silva did not have a good season in the prem, only in the UCL. As sensational a player Modric is, he is surely not in the top 10 as of now, he had an average LaLiga performance, and is clearly showing his age. Bruno is a must for me. Some honourable mentions for Aleix Garcia, Parejo and Szoboszlai. Maybe even Jonas Hoffman who has been immense in the bundesliga Also, Kimmich is top 3 easy rn

I'm happy for Bellingham going to Real Madrid and there's definitely something there, which must be why they paid the fee for him, but he still needs to prove himself before entering the top 10 list. He's mature beyond his years and seems to have a great work ethic, so being at Madrid will be a test to prove how good he is/can be. He does need to be careful with his knee, because his career could be diminished. I wish him all the best of luck, though, and I hope he goes on to do great things and win trophies.

Lets be honest after KDB it doesnt really matter, 2-10 you can swap and change each and every one of them from game to game! Toms the only one out of these who doesnt have to google players! Verratti is a strange one, Ive always like him but its crazy hes only got 7 goals for PSG in 11 years! To put that into perspective Casemiros got 4 in his first season and he missed about 18 games.

Overrating Odegard is so weird to the level where Bruno comparisons don't stand. Bruno Fernandes had record breaking goalscoring seasons, last season competed with Kdb on every metric of chance creation, topping some, scored one more than Kdb in the PL. He didn't have the striker to back it with assists. If Theo(who's probably only seen arsenal and England play) goes by Odergaard scoring most goals as a 10, then he should be above Kdb too.

@@jackwebb987 I don't think so, he obviously drops down whenever needed to and progress the ball, but so does Bruno. They're respectively both teams primary creators and best progressor, Ode is a much better carrier, Bruno is a much better passer. Both receive high alot too, there was a comparison graph between Kdb and these three by a good acc and they're incredibly similar, more so Ode and Bruno cause they drop more for United and arsenal, but Bruno is a much better chance creator while Odergaard a shooter. Bruno also outright played as a pivot player/6 behind Sabitzer when Casemiro was injured last season. I think Bruno's last season was insane creatively(backed up by underlying stats) but general consensus didn't see that cause he didn't have a finisher to convert his chances to goals. But Odergaard was close too, him Bruno Kdb top 3 attacking mids in the league. My issue was Theo dismissing Bruno so easily when it's so far from the truth.

At least Bellingham was the best player on the pitch against City in the CL and was Dortmund player of the season. Broke a Champions League record and was in the World Cup best XI. Whilst Pedri wasnt even the best player at Barca, it was ter Stegen, followed by aruajo, followed by de Jong, Pedri wansnt even the best at a Europa League club. They won the league due to the defence and goalkeeper overperforming.

Bruno Fernandes club stats last season: 14 goals and 15 assists Odegaard club stats last season: 15 goals and 8 assists. And that’s not even including Bruno Fernandes’ World Cup goals and assists (btw at the World Cup he had the highest rating of any player in the whole tournament- above Mbappe and Messi). And this is Odegaard first decent season and Bruno is still better on an average season for him 😂

I feel like Tom rates Kimmicg so highly as well as rice and verratti over Bellingham is because he prefers a more defensive minded midfielder compared to players like Bellingham who pick up the ball and charge at players, also Bellingham’s underrated for his intensity when pressing to win back the ball.

Veratti (Tom’s opinion is great on him) 6. Kimmich 5. Bernardo silva (incredibly underrated Tom again with a W opinion) 4. Gundogan 3. Casemiro 2. Rodri 1. De Brunye And I’m not a City fan I’m a Liverpool fan but the city midfield is class

For me right now these are the best 20 players in who play 6, 8 and 10. KDB, Modric, Silva, Rodri, Casemiro, Kimmich, Fernandez, Odegaard, Kroos, Gundogan, Brozovic, Foden, Pedri, Frenkie, Valverde, Barella, Bellingham, Goretzka, Kovacic and Verratti

I totally get why he wouldn't put Bellingham top 10, I wouldn't yet have him in there. But to suggest there is no case to be made for him being top 10 CM is wrong imo. He won the Bundesliga player of the year ahead of Kimmich so there is case that he is top 10.

Tom’s list was easily the best and Veratti is arguably a top 3 midfielder of his generation, however he’s not a top 10 anymore I watched a lot of PSG this season (solely because of Messi ngl) and he has dropped off massively recently

Agree with Tom here 100%. Bellingham is unbelievable and absolutely will be up there, but all these players have been established for years. If Bellingham is that high for Theo and Reev then how is Musiala not also getting a shout. I get he's often played a bit more advanced than Bellingham but I'd still consider him a midfielder. Also the disrespect for Bernardo Silva here is unreal.

I don’t see why no-one is talking about modric being so high on both Theo’s and Reev’s lists. Tom argued it but if you consistently watch Madrid & Croatia you can see how he’s not the same player which is understandable now but his hyperbole over his international retirement and monumental career takeover the narrative. Kroos & camavinga moving into cm from being forced as a leftback were so much better than Modric + Valverde this season.
