This is by far one of the best tutorials I've seen. The method is good. But more importantly it is very well timed with all the detail. So many other tutorial skip over things . Illustrating each and every step is vital for the beginner and advanced user. Well done. Thank you.

Thanks for the video I followed it but for some reason, my version was not glowing as much I went back through it and it never gave that emission glow as yours did any ideas????

If you are using cycles than you have to plug in glare node in compositer And than select fog in glare node And for eevee it's in the render settings (Bloom)

Could've just showed us the entire node tree straight away and saved us some time...

my guy understand this, whoever is coming here looking for how to make heated metal material, is not looking for how to add a basic material or how to go into shading tab!! Based on the topic you have to understand and make a disclaimer that basic blender knowledge is required. I don't wanna see you explain how to add a material to an object when I'm looking for an advance shader of heated metal

this is not an advanced shader of heated metal though. this is a super basic entry level shader of heated metal, one that barely works and only looks halfway decent visually, but is not actually accurate or high detail or even interactive. Any advanced shader for heated metal is most likely going to use the blackbody node, this just uses a color node instead. The guy clearly does not even know the topic of the shader he is making either, as in the video he even mentions to reduce the emission value as it will just start to get white and you will lose detail, and that is exactly how metal behaves in real life, it gets white hot, and loses visual detail as it does so, but he is deliberately designing it to not be that way because he is not after advanced or high accuracy, but rather a cartoonized simple and basic version that you might see in a low poly game as a background asset viewed from far away.
