Saw the tour version and oh my goodness. The whole atmosphere was electrifying! Such an exhilarating snd highly energised show with moments that were perfectly tender and felt truly sincere over them be exaggerated and falsified. And of course the music, the lyrics, the singing. Whatever mic‘s they Have I made because I have never heard voices sounds so angelic and pure and real life I’ve seen many shows and this is specifically in regards to Martha. She reflects that Kid we all know from school, chandlers comedic timing and whether she was directed or improvised, she made heather c a new type of funny that I never expected before so as opposed just a nasty villain, we got to see this light and joyful side of her which was refreshing to see as it tends to be played postal similar all in all. Same with Veronica? She had the cute quirky side which was really amplified in this production/ actually Veronica has to experience pretty much every single emotion which would’ve been draining but she succeeded and it more. She’s got so much fire strength and drive bursting out that little body! And don’t get me started... his voice is like smooth gorgeous honey, it had my jaw on my ground every time he opened his mouth and PLEASE his acting? Strongest acting through song I’ve seen for years. The clarity of his emotion was so evident. Him and Veronica need their Olivier . Could praise this cast all day but if you any chance don’t miss this one. I spontaneously booked the night before and it’s the best decision I’ve made in a while. Whilst the broadway one is amazing in its way this one feels fresher, brighter with a fully realised set that transforms you into high school. New songs, and I still cannot get over the perfectly angelic blend of voices from the ensemble echoed through some of the best mics I’ve ever heard as every word sounds so crisp and pure. Far beyond anything auto tune. The amplification of their real birds fills the room leaving everyone speechless. Everyone is mesmerised and escaping into ‘this world of excitement and glory. I couldn’t recommend it more. After a year of struggle, this reminded me I am alive again and If that sounds dramatic so be it? I’m an thespian and it saves my life

I agree, a lot of the stronger notes feel like they were unsure or holding back!

Might have just been really bad foldback, singing outside is hard enough to begin with but if you can’t hear what you’re tuning to clearly and the audience is going wild then I can’t blame them! It’s also possible they didn’t have much warmup time or they’re just not investing 100% to save for the actual show later. To be honest I’m going to go with the former - one time show, outside, crowd chanting along, perfect recipe to reduce how well you can hear what you’re doing

@@TAP7a Agreed, singing outside is really hard because there's no acoustic, nothing for the sound to bounce off even with mics, it's tough and a whole other skill. They still did amazing.
